Yes.  You will probably be ripped apart for your positive views of HLA.  Though, your experience is like many others.  I have posted on this board several times and said that there are many benefits to HLA, and depending mainly on your child's counselor, your child(and family) will get the help they need.

A couple of things you should be aware of...

A pharmacy tech and nurse are not the ones to have always handled your childs meds.  If this is the case now, it is a recent change.  Meds are routinely handled by people with no medical training.

The transportation fee is simply a scam to raise more funds.  No matter what you have been told, HLA is not in strong financial standing.

The Chapel Fund...well...The have a lot of explaining to do with that one.  No one seems to know where all the money has gone.  Very sticky situation that I am sure they are trying to resolve before legal trouble kicks up.

I am glad to hear someone get on here a talk about their positive experiences.  I believe yours are more common than people on this board want to believe.  Most kids do actually have positive experiences at HLA.

The owner is just incompetent, crazy, and corrupt.

yet another post showing all the corruption, greed and extreme negligence of HLA with the parent stating that they LEFT THEIR KID THERE after finding all of this information.

what's WRONG with you?  i don't get this line of thinking at all.  "i paid too much, stuff isn't included, facility is broke, staff lies to us, kids get hazed, there is b no security, if you get LUCKY you get a decent counselor who wants to help...etc"

GO GET YOUR KID AND GET SOME REAL HELP FOR YOUR FAMILY.

It never ceases to amaze me the absurdity and absolute blind stupidity of people.

I wonder how much of a pay off she got for saying all those good things about HLA? Either that or it's one of the new staff writing that crock.
