People use this forum for all kinds of things. For some it's a way to find old friends. For others it's a source of research material for journalism, litigation or personal interest. Some people look here for therapy and personal insight (bad move most of the time, if you ask me). For some it's a singles bar. Some are just mad clowns, satirizing the whole thing.
To each his own, but none of these things are my core reason for starting this. My primary purpose for starting these sites is so damned simple nobody seems able or willing to beieve it. Rampant talking out in group. Each manifestation or branch off of the Synanon cult has their own private lexicon, but all rely heavily on extreme control of communications. I believe that is The Lnchpin®. Pull that out, let people speak freely at will to whomever they chose about whatevery they wish and the whole thing unravels.
Darlin', this is a reasonable representation of the nature of the Toughlove hate group. Ugly, isn't it? But this is nothing, NOthing! compared to living it in real life, 24/7 w/ no escape and at the direction and compulsion of your own natural family.

Maybe the folks are not crazy but they come off that way to the average person. I have known many people who used to visit this site who have not for a very long time because it is depressing and destructive. People here seem to have a need to trash other people. Thank you, also anon, for that post, you have no idea how difficult it is to keep a discussion on topic, try to present a point a view or problem solve an issue thru from ?Root cause? to ?possible solutions? without name calling or driving the discussion off topic. In defense to some of the regulars I have to say that they have been communicating in this manner for so long it has become second nature and trying to step back and take a new perspective or follow any natural evolution of the industry is very difficult when you have been working the same story for so long. The industry may change and improve and they will never know it happened
If we could turn the discussions around and allow some new blood to enter (myself included) with new ideas the forum may brighten up and yield dividends that the parents and kids can benefit from. The continuous bashing of people who have been hired and fired from places like HLA serves only to run down this site and discredit the authors. Anyone in business knows that all business?s go thru this (Expansion/ deflation) hiring the wrong people, it is not a reflection on their output or intent, it just immaturity on the part of the posters. Continuously ramping up the anger and driving parents away because they cant make a believer out of them in 2 hours is short sighted and serves to hurt the children in the long run.
I realize there is a warning upon entering this site, but it would be nice to come up with something to help these kids. Everyone seems to get caught up in winning an argument.
Anyway, my two pennies, if this is trolling, I am sorry, try to get over it.

Unfortunately the bridge incident is true. He told us himself, and so did the escort. The vadalism was quite obviously someone else considering Ashley worked that night and then was home with her mother and father all night. Granted the dealer worked with Ashley, but Alex met him all on his own.
