What do the parents of the children think about their children being in Mexico with the Sudweeks, if this is indeed where they are?
IF the kids were only recently enrolled, the parents may be totally unaware that Cheryl Sudweeks has been charged with criminal child abuse, and that she is facing a criminal trial in September.
When we enrolled our daughter in October 2004, she was immediately transported to Lake Powell for a 3 week "FEELINGS RETREAT."
We simply thought, "what a wonderful opportunity for a camping trip at a beautiful place....."
LATER, we discovered that our daughter exprienced personal abuse, and observed some of the worse abuse imaginable to her fellow student, Joey .
We were unaware of the Sudweeks's criminal past when we enrolled our daughter at Whitmore Academy. Granted, it was our responsiblity to KNOW, and we failed.
The parents of the long-term students ARE AWARE. Why do they choose to leave their children in the care of the Sudweeks? You would have to ask them.
Any new parents of students? They MAY NOT be aware of the Sudweeks past and current criminal legal problems.
IF there are NEW students with the Sudweeks at this time: A more important question needs to be asked---Who referred these children to Whitmore Academy while the owner is awaiting a criminal trial for abusing 4 children?
