And what's going on here then.

It is interesting to note that while the Teenhelp industry is growing and fear of youth is at an all time high, get tough measures, curfews and extreme punitive sanctions are being applied to youth all over the United STates and the media backlash is growing stronger, against this backdrop we have the truth of the modern teenager as the most passive, non violent, law abiding generation since records began. In the same period that saw violent crime double across the United States, juveile crome dropped thirty eight percent (source DoJ/ CJCJ). Drug abuse my juveniles is as low as it has ever been while drug related deaths and hospital admissions for people aged 35-50 are at an all time high. Pregnancies involving two teenage partners have declined while pregnancies involving a teen mother and adult father have risen by a third (source CJCJ)
Why, when every measure we have shows modern children are the best behaved we have ever had to we fear out children so much?

see the children with their boredom and their vacant stares. God help us all if we\'re to blame for their unanswered prayers,

I think the 'goal' is perfection, however that may be defined in 'their' twisted little minds. Zero tolerance and harsh punishment is the means to that end.

I know an 11 year boy whose mother received a 'warning' note from school. Good kid, never in trouble, but he has had 3 tardies all year and is AT RISK of being referred to their Friday night detention program is he acquires 2 more tardies by the time school is out, next month.
600+ opportunites to be tardy, and 5 wins him a seat in the 'program'?

Several time this boy has received a 'zero' for work that wasn't turned in on time. Work was in his binder, failed to leave it at the end of class. Not a problem in any other class. Only the one where the teacher is a hard ass with black and white policies- "because that's what will be expected of him in high school".

Every year expectation increases. Kids are peddling as fast as they can to keep up with the unrealistic demands placed upon them. Any wonder they become frustrated/ hopeless? Seek relief from the constant barrage of mind numbing commands, and say fuck it?

And if they can't peddle fast enough, they are AT RISK of being warehoused with other square pegs who aren't cutting it in the failed system.

Watch "Minority Reports". A good depiction of where the zero tolerance/ intervention agenda could lead.
PreCrime- government program design to identify and incarcerate criminals 'before' they commit crimes.
Three genetically engineered PreCogs (pre cognitives) lie in a pool of water and dream. When a person appears as a criminal in one of their dreams that person is arrested and punished.
Science fiction? Maybe, maybe not.

We're seeing this in Tx now. Police are going into public establishments, arresting people they presume to have had too much to drink. Doesn't matter if the person has a designated driver or will take a taxi home. Doesn't matter that we already have laws that hold bartenders liable for serving a patron too much. Yeh, might make sense to pick someone up if they're lying in their own puke on the floor, but that is a very small percentage of incidents. This new policy is ripe to be abused and cause unnecessary grief and expense to the average citizen. One can expect to spend a minimum of about $10-15K for a DUI/DWI.

What are the characteristics of a 'perfect' society? If we don't define that accurately, we end up with anti-human, anti-species, anit-life policies. Police stations in public schools.

What do humans need to be content and peaceful? Have the majority forgotten? How many of those needs are being met? Is it too late? Does fear rule every decision/ policy? How does anyone perceive living in a constant state of fear, as Freedom?
