Question for HLA parents

How did most parents end up sending their children to HLA? Is it Ed Cons, or how did you end up finding HLA? Isn't an Ed Con responsible legally for recommending a place with the range of problems HLA, and other schools have?
I just tried Hidden Lake Academy in Google. Healonline, Fornits and Strugglingteens were all in the top 5. Wikipedia also has an entry, with criticism and Fornits mentioned.
I wish I had seen them a few years ago.

Unfortunately, no. Ed Cons employ a disclaimer in regard to that matter. Basically you retain the services of HLA (or any other "school") at your own risk.
Remember, there are great incentives for Ed Cons to refer to places like HLA. They receive lavish gifts, "kickbacks," and referral "fees." There is a lot of money changing hands in these deals.

Do the Ed.Cons. have to declare these 'gifts'..?

Legally, yes. My understanding is that much of this is done "behind the scenes."
One HLA employee recently stated that the owner sent out extremely lavish "gifts" to the Ed cons that refer there to "smooth over" the recent bad publicity.
It seems to be a quid pro quo arrangement - nothing is free.

If the "Buddists" are right, I wonder what all these 'lovely' people will "come" back as...
