Haven't read the last two days' news yet. But I think this is some hot shit! Like, they may actually do something meaningful in the way of investigation. Will they dare tell the whole story? About how these people do these things to their own children or pay big bucks to contract it out to others? Time will tell.

for nothing can keep it right but their own vigilant and distrustful superintendence.

Outside Agency to Aid Probe of Fla. Camp

PENSACOLA, Fla. ? A special prosecutor looking into the death of a 14-year-old boy at a juvenile boot camp has dropped Florida's chief law enforcement agency from the investigation Thursday because of questions about its impartiality.

Mark Ober said it was "in the best interest of this investigation" for "an independent law enforcement agency" to take the place of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He said the sheriff of Hillsborough County, where Ober is prosecutor, has agreed to help.

Ober is investigating the death Jan. 6 of Martin Lee Anderson, who was beaten, kicked and dragged by guards in a scuffle captured on videotape at a boot camp run by the sheriff of Bay County.

The Miami Herald reported this week that FDLE Commissioner Guy Tunnell sent e-mails to the Bay County sheriff. The e-mails criticized those who question the effectiveness of boot camps and discussed the FDLE's unsuccessful effort to withhold the video.

Gov. Jeb Bush said Tunnell should not have communicated privately with the sheriff about the investigation.

In a statement Thursday, Tunnell said: "I express my regret for the unfortunate perception that has developed in recent days that may have caused there to be doubt about my personal integrity, and more importantly, that of my agency in regards to this critical investigation."

Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Anderson's family, said that the e-mail exchanges compromised the investigation but that the special prosecutor's announcement was encouraging.

Dear Ed,
  Please consider for publication:

In Thursday's National news section, Guy Tunnell said that he regrets the "nfortunate perception that has developed in recent days that may have caused there to be doubt about my personal integrity, and more importantly, that of my agency in regards to this critical investigation."

Yeah, I bet he does. Me? I'm thrilled! Finally a little bit of truth is coming out about these sadistic people. Guy Tunnell isn't just a sheriff. He's not just the commissioner of of FDLE. He also holds a seat on the advisory board of Calvina Fay's Drug Free America Foundation. DFAF used to be called Straight, Incorporated. I spent a couple of years in the "care" of that notorious gulag before they all closed under investigation. Those emails from Tunnell give you just a small peek into the attitude, character and spirit of that organization. Toughlove is a hate group. Race is not their primary focus, but it does play in. I just can't tell you how glad I am to see that the media and public are FINALLY starting notice how sadistic and delusional these people are.

Please, keep it up! This is only the tip of the ice burg.

Highest regards to Texas and the Chron,
Ginger Warbis

I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism.

Guy Tunnell should be fired and the nurse/gaurds who killed Mr. Anderson should be arrested and go to prison.

There should be a grand jury investigation and th FBI should take over the case.
