Hi, this is John Gorenfeld -- I wrote the recent piece for AlterNet about Rep. George Miller's crusade to regulate the "troubled teen" industry.

Wondering if anyone here has thought about getting a copy of this: a CSPAN video of a presidential fundraising dinner in 2001 where WWASPS president Lichfield was a guest -- having given $100,000 to the president, according to campaign records.

Cool - but do you really think anybody cares considering the connection with Mel Sembler (Ambassador to Italy, with ties to STRAIGHT, one of the worst anti-drug cults in history)? Maybe if they interviewed Maia Szlavitz who wrote the new book HELP AT ANY COST and showed that video simultaneously things might get interesting???

Definitly worth a shot, great article you wrote there.  Much thanks!

Thanks for the links!

Yeah, I think people do care, or will. It just takes thousands of mentions and impressions to generate enough buzz to take on momentum. Just hang it out there. If we build it, they will come.
Understand that legal and illegal are political, and often arbitrary,
categorizations; use and abuse are medical, or clinical, distinctions.
