I agree.
In any case, if you're a parent just looking for the most "convenient" place to "send" your kid, then yeah it would be convenient for you to send her there.

That's my take on it too. Going further, even the founders and long term higher ups are deluded in these places. That's what makes them so damned dangerous. Let's not forget what they did to OverLordd.
Basically, they went after this really clean cut kid, the epitome of Good Kid®, asif he were some kind of dangerous criminal. All the kid did was to 'threaten' to go take some snap shots of the campus.
Why in the world would they act that way? There's only one reason I can think of, and it happens to be perfectly consistent with all of my experience w/ Synanon based cults. Because they view the world as being starkly devided between "Us" and "Them". That's how things always get so incredibly corrupted. They don't listen to valid criticism, never see their failures, can't tolerate even the suggestion that what they're doing is harmful. Instead, they attack and silence critics.
Here's the part most people who didn't grow up in one of these cults often miss. They do the same thing to themselves, in their own heads and in their own families.
Watch the Martin Lee Anderson snuff flick and take note of a couple of things. One, there's the demeanor of ALL of the staff present on the scene, including the camera guy. Camera guy dutifully keeps the scene properly framed. Was he trying to generate damning evidence against them? Probably not. More likely he was just like the rest of the staff, he didn't see anything wrong with what he was filming.
I'm not saying this to excuse what goes on in these places or the people who make it happen. Far from it. I'm saying this so that maybe people will look at ppl like Bill Grey, Rudy Bentz, Len Buchelato(sp?) and all the rest as real live, terminally flawed human beings who have gone wrong.
You can't punish them out of this shit. All you can hope for is that enough of them will see the error of their ways and seek to make amends.
