Aspen and SUWS in Idaho
« on: February 20, 2006, 05:44:00 PM »
My son recently finished 37 days at Aspen's SUWS program in southern Idaho.  He loved it.  We spent several days together after SUWS and before he went to a boarding school (not an Aspen Program).  We were in a car together for hours at a time and stayed 3 nights in the same hotel room.  All he talked about was the fun he had, the friends he made, the great instructors.  It wasn't an easy experience, but compared to the jail cell that was awaiting him if he didn't get off the drugs, it was.

My husband and I checked out a number of boarding schools - there are some scary places out there.  Be careful what you choose, know what you are doing.

So, which boarding school did you drive your son to?

I went to SUWS.  It's so short and I also did not mind it.  Afterwards my parents were sold on 1 year of a program, which turned into 3 years.  I, too, willingly boarded a plane after the brochure made it sound like I could hike, ski and ride horses.  You posted a few months ago.  I'm curious how the "boarding school" has turned out.
