Quote from: "starry-eyed pirate" Also been listenin to more spoken word from Jello Biafra, the former Dead Kennedys singer. He's great. Yes, he is! The DKs were my idols back when I was 16, then when I was back in the real world at age 19, my band (Reptile House) had landed a gig at WUST Music Hall in DC opening for them. Our drummer had sent them the demo and he liked it. The Butthole Surfers were their supporting act that year, back when they were still on Alternative Tentacles; their set was over-the-top crazy, but that's another story. :clown: After we played, Jello walked on stage and shook our hands. With wry humor he said to me that he didn't realize we were so 'demonic.'
QuoteAlso been enjoyin this ol African jazz man name 'a' Fela Anikulapo-Kuti,Yeah, he's good. I'm surprised that you hadn't heard his stuff already (I would've guessed that a guy with your musical tastes would have heard Kuti long ago.)
