Yeah, Thistle and Shamrock.  I tend to go for the more upbeat drummin and fiddle an bow burnin rather than the hoaksy folksy-style vocalists, generally.  Remember the scene in the beginning of "The Titanic" when they show the low class below decks jammin an wailin.

Iron Maiden_"Revelations"(off Piece of Mind), "Wrathchild", "Murders in the Rue Morgue" (off Killers), "Remember Tomorrow" (from their first self-titled)(all vinyl)

Judas Priest_"The Ripper", "Green Manalishi(with the 2 Pronged Crown)"(v)

Black Crowes_3 Snakes and One Charm

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Probably my favorite studio album by them, Toys In The Attic being a close second, but the hits on that one got so overplayed that you almost can't listen to 'em anymore. Then there's Live Bootleg (my absolute favorite), and not a bad live album as live albums go, either.

"Season of the Witch", yeah, great song.  I knew that song in the days before $tr8, but never really appreciated it until I heard a local band wail it, all dragged out like about 10 years ago..."the rabbits runnin in the ditch"...yeah.

Hey, allow me to fetch my beer...(lol)

well, wait til I'm done with my cough-drop.

Put on some Paul Simon the other day, might have ta do it again too; "Still Crazy After All These Years", "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" and some other P.S. from the vinyl: Live Rhymin'.  This is a live recording of Paul and some cat named Urubamba and the Jesse Dixon Jazz Singers as well.  "Mother and Child reunion", The Sound of Silence", "Jesus is the Answer", Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Loves Me Like a Rock"...

Also listened to:
Steel Pulse_True Democracy(v)
North Mississippi All-Stars_Keep On Marchin(DVD)live in Burlington VT, 11/11/05
CTI Summer Jazz All Stars featuring George Benson_Live One at The Hollywood Bowl(tape)
Rose Royce featuring the Pointer Sisters and Richard Pryor_Car Wash(original movie soundtrack)(v)

Gettin ready to watch the Steelers advance their record to 5-1 against the poor Bengals today. Better be careful though, those division games are usually tough and unpredictable(Ravens fans will understand this easier than most as they were unexpectedly beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers, only a few weeks ago)  Maybe the Bengals have been teased enough...but I think we'll whup 'em.

Steppenwolf_"Monster"(radio)-the message in this song is still right the fuck on! Steppenwolf rocks!!

The Doors_"Runnin Blues"(radio)

caught a film on "Independent lense" late last night called "Chicago 10", about the 1970 trial of Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin and those guys who had been charged with inciting riots at the '68 Democratic convention.  The scenes in the courtroom were all done in cartoon animation, while the rest of the film was all made up of ol' news reels and home movies.  Pretty cool.  In one part they showed some ol' footage of MC5 playin "Kick Out the Jams" Power to the people!!(fist in the air).

No way! I saw that, too, and even my kids were fascinated by it! I have to commend the producers on their incredible construction of that program. The interviews and footage were unreal, and I enjoyed the graphic theatre as well.  The only problem is that now my kids think the police are pigs and were contriving ways to bring "power to the people." Crap, I'm going to get them kicked out of school.  The scene where Bobby Seale was shackled and gagged in the courtroom for simply vocalizing his protest was chilling. The judge totally and publicly attempted to dehumanize him.  I didn't know how to explain that one to the kids.

Why is that a problem?  You're kids are right to think as they do.  They've just been educated, that's all.......
