Shiiiiit, y'all...Ms. Agent makes Emma Peel and 99 look like isabelle Zehnder on a Krispy Kreme bender.  Hey, that rhymes...

Froderick, get the guitars, it must be a song coming on....

Hey ZA, ever hear the Grant Hart tune "The Main"?  Just wondering.  Did you go see the Black Angels?

"The Main" is a great song, on a level with Lou Reed's best heroin tunes.  "Jesus Christ topped the list of most wanted souls, and like DeQuincy he died with his arms full of holes"  Somewhere I've got a version of "The Main" I recorded on a Korg D8, when they were the hot thing for ten minutes.  I did a pretty good version of Sleater Kinney's "Buy Her Candy" on the D8, too.  I figured out the cool intertwined guitars, but for some reason my voice didn't seem low enough to sing it, and no, I don't sound like a Bee Gee or nothin'.

It sinks to the bottom or floats to the top/ I avoided policemen when I went to cop/ She sang 1-2-3, 1-2-3 Come get me now/ So I filled up as much as my brass would allow

Those are some of my favorite lines from "The Main", in addition to the ones you quoted.  I had that song on an "SST Records Unplugged" compilation.  Good record, had Roger Manning doing "Sicilian Train Blues" on it, which is another great song.  He played it by request when I saw him a decade ago.

Ms. Agent was suffering some kinda gastrointestinal malady last night, (I blame the Taco Hell food from Friday) so we missed the Black Angels, which sucked.  Leon Russell was playing in town, too, charging fifty to a hundred bucks a seat.  That kind of money should keep Leon's nose packed for a week, then it's back to biker rallies and meth labs.

So here's what I've been listening to today:

Rudimentary Peni--Cacaphony

Black Flag--Damaged

Gun Club--Miami and Fire Of Love

Blue Oyster Cult--Some Enchanted Evening

Roky Erickson--Gremlins Have Pictures

I'm not familiar with Rudimentary Peni, and I'm ashamed to say I don't have Gremlins Have Pictures

The only thing I see needing to be played at the moment:

Bad Brains - Pay To Cum

Sorry you missed The Black Angels.  What with being in the hospital, I missed the shows in Georgia that I had wanted to see.  Dammit!

Gremlins Have Pictures has been rereleased (again), and this time, Roky's actually gonna make a buck or two from it.  I urge you to buy it if you haven't already.

Rudimentary Peni is basically a vehicle for the ir psychotic singer/bassist, Nick Blinko, to spread his insanity.  Lots of their fans prefer Death Church, but my fave is Cacaphony, it's kind of a concept album with lots of H.P. Lovecraft references and some cool segue stuff (like the whispered words "I spiked his drink" and the shouted "Howard was giving his mother a good fuck!" between tracks).  Recommended.

I'd like to send out a dedication to a notorious troll, a piece of shit wrapped in human skin.  This goes out to TheWho, may he churn forever in the bowels of hell.
