(1/4) > >>

SurRobinHood:
I've wondered a few times how many people, like me, becamd followers of the greatful dead after leaveing the program. This forum seems like as good a place as any to ask. Well?

Anonymous:
I kinda did, but only because ppl gave me free tickets and rides to the shows...

I really wasn't into the Dead much, but after str8 I moved to a new city and met a bunch of Deadheads and befriended them. They always had the best acid.

I didn't know about The Dead before straight. I felt so dumb when people would talk about it. I had no idea what they were talking about.

i was a dead head before str8!when i got out i traveled all over the country...i was over 18 and on my own by then. i went into str8 in apr.81....in my school,i was the only long haired dead head...i had been assessed by a shrink that i was living in the late 60's and early 70's!lol no shit!somhow i seemed to know it would make a come back and in the mid 80's it did!when i went to shows in the 80's,a lot of the jocks in my school became dead heads....when they saw me,knowing what i had been through in str8,they'd point to me and say"he's been into it before it was popular!" i guess in some way that made up for all the b.s i took from them in school...you see being a beatles and dead head, wasnt cool in the mid 70's and early 80's...even the freaks in my school thought i was wierd....then,in the mid 80's everyone became a dead head...playing "hippie" became cool and a lot of people ruined a good thing....the dead got banned by a lot of places because the crowd became full of what i call fake dead heads...they were there for the scene and the drugs...it was a bummer to see it happen like it did...it just got out of control....str8 never broke me of the hippie culture....hippie564
