My cousin went to spring creek in 89 or 91 or thereabouts.

Ya know... and this is just a hunch. Perhaps 'Spring Creek' existed as an independent facility, and WWASP PURCHASED it from them around 1996/1997 as previously stated. Just a theory...

WWASPS does not own Spring Creek. You can find owners at the site for Montana state.

Semantics.  If you mean the legal entity registered in Utah called the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools then you are technically correct.  If you use the term as it is generally used here as meaning the empire of businesses all run by various members of a handful of families, many of which operate under the banner of the above-mentioned corporation then then it is.

In the absence of any other name, what else are we to call the above empire?  Many of the businesses will not even acknowledge their relationship with WWASPS.  At least Aspen, for all its faults (and I wouldn't want to imply anything good about Aspen), is open about who owns what.  You don't find any of its businesses registered at fake addresses or with non-existent directors.
