HYDE

Parents who have complaints about Hyde should share their information with:
The International Survivors Action Committee (ISAC), which investigates complaints and, when necessary, contacts local officials and places the program on its watch list: http://www.isaccorp.org/index.html
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the organization that accredits Hyde. NEASC has a formal mechanism to process complaints: http://www.neasc.org/cis/cis.htm

If all it takes is an infinite number of monkeys w/ keyboards, why is there no Shakespeare coming out of AOL?
No, the first thing one must do is to come to terms with where Hyde and all of the other programs just like it (Synanon style TCs) fit into our society. It's an ugly subject. But it seems pretty evident that it's not just this one maniac and his few followers. There's a market for this sick shit throughout the country and even Europe and, I hear tell, Saudi Arabia.
People have been speaking up, pretty loudly. Look outside of the discussion on just this one school and find out about all the litigation, shocking news stories and other muck raking that has surrounded these groups since the daze of Manson and Synanon. Trouble is, nobody cares. People are more afraid of the mythical juvenile super monster on Angel Dust than the reality of how these places operate.
As Pogo said, we have met the enemy and the enemy is us.
I think Hyde will either implode or quietly fade away like most fringe cults do.
We get crushed in the first three, four years of school...We're trained to become parrots. We're trained to learn information and give it back at test time. But we're not taught to think. We're not taught how to access genius.

Wow! Hot topic!
Yes, write to ISAC. That's one good way to help wake people up about this scam.
For the most part we inherit our opinions. We are the heirs of habits and mental customs. Our beliefs, like the fashion of our garments, depend on where we were born. We are molded and fashioned by our surroundings.
