Man-made weather possible? Absolutely. At least it seems plausible to the US Senate. Otherwise, why would they be proposing bills to address it.

But was it Japan? Or the Russians? Or our own black-ops apparatus? While the world may never know for sure, it may be instructive to look at two relavent questions: Who's fuckin' who and where'd the money go?

If there is a God, he is a malign thug.

Follow the beneficiaries ...

It is the 24 hour news stations that plotted
the storm. They didn't have a follow up
kidnapping or murder story to match the
rating so they created Rita.

This will all end after sweeps week is over!

There is such a thing as cycles in the weather.

Look at the past, before you make claims of man's
involvement.

Yeah, who knows what goes on in that area, but I believe aliens plotted the storm. It came at a time when a lot of shit was going down. The people's response................HELL!!! retribution was Rita. When will it take all those voodoo people to repent?

First management had plans and then strategic plans. Now we have vision, and we're only one small step from hallucination.

DELIBERATE DISASTERS
By Jim Hightower
9/26/2005

We now know that the disastrous collapse of the Lake Pontchartrain levee in New Orleans was no accident.

George Bush's own federal emergency experts had been shouting for years that The Big One was coming to the Big Easy, and that the flood-protection system of this fabled American city was criminally inadequate. But the Bushites were blasé, saying: Hey, we're pushing a new "ownership society" in which everyone is responsible for their own well-being instead of counting on nasty ol' government to help them. They cut the money for shoring up the levees.

So... people died. Welcome to the Bush's ownership society. Step this way if you want to own a casket.

Lest you think that the New Orleans levee failure doesn't affect you, it was but a forewarning to every place in America ? because loud-mouthed, budget-slashing politicians of both parties have failed miserably to keep our nation's house in even minimal repair. The American Society of Civil Engineers has determined that more than 3,500 dams maintained by state and local governments are "unsafe." Unsafe! The engineering experts also calculate that America must spend $11 billion a year just to bring our existing drinking-water facilities up to a safe standard ? yet, the short-sighted budget-slashers are not even allocating 10-percent of this necessary funding. And spending for our highways and bridges is more than $6 billion short of the minimum needed each year just to maintain what we have ? much less building the new ones we need.

This is Jim Hightower saying... Even tight-fisted fiscal conservatives know that routine maintenance of our essential infrastructure is cheaper than disaster. The ongoing deterioration of our nation's vital public works is the direct result of totally irresponsible political hacks posturing as small-government budget whackers. They are creating disasters ? and one can only hope that an especially-horrific level of hell awaits them.

Theres no possible way the hurricane was man made, I mean.. seriously, come on.

WHether the levees were blown up on purpose is another story. But why create a disaster which fucks up your reputation even more? Katrina harly helped bushies approval rating. As of now he has a 46% favorable rating of his handling of Katrina.

It's 9/11 I wonder about... who pulled that shit off? I'm guessing israel.

The sky is falling the sky is falling!

Gadzooks people. Katrina was not an unusual storm. It just happened to make landfall in a delicate (populated) geographical area. I mean what the fuck do you expect to happen to a mass of land BELOW sea-level when the oceanic storm surge is of such great proportion?
Similar storms have made landfall in Texas, Florida, and most of the Sotheastern coast in the last 3 decades.

The public reaction to Katrina (the storm) reprisents the damage it had done. If the same storm  fell upon one of the many sparcely inhabited islands of the mediteranian (which is common), it wouldnt have even made the news. (which is also common)

Not only is the idea of manufacturing weather (storms, rain, snow, heat, cold) a laughable pathetic idea within some very naive minds, there is no scientific evidence that suggests it is even possible to alter an exsisting weather pattern without the use of hydrogen or atomic bombs.

Too many people fear the sky is falling with regard to weather patterns, global warming, storms etc. when only 30 years ago, the worlds most informed and vocal scientists predicted the onset of an "ice age" like atmospheric weather change by the year 2000. Uhh, what the fuck?
Globaly, the mean average temperature has risen 1 freakin degree in the last 4 years. Whooopdee fuckin doo.

Uh, think that 1 degree increase is what has meterologists concerned.  All the reports I've read indicated the increased tempature is what has caused the increase in violent storms.  Not only in the Atlantic region either.  The Pacific Typhoons are larger and more numerous than ever witnessed before.  Seems too that Greenland is losing its ice fields at a faster rate.  Do some research, might open your eyes.  Unless of course you are one of those that "trusts" our government - they wouldn't lie.

1 degree whoopdedoo, huh? 1 degree in the Gulf of Mexico is a big deal for hurricanes, for a start. They are incredibly water temperature dependent.

Funny thing is, I agree with a good bit of your post, however-

Cloud seeding affects weather. No, they don't seed using atomic or thermonuclear weapons. For a start, CA used to seed the crap out of clouds during droughts, with rainfall (when it came) way out of proportion to the barometric change, humidity, etc. Yeah, it's unprovable, in an absolutist sense. I know, California is blue state, populated by ninnies nowhere near as astute as you.You can sit on your hands until the earth is screwed, then you and your buddies will be screaming it was all someone else's fault.

Global warming can easily lead to an ice age. When there are relatively small temperature sweeps, it changes the way global currents move, and water evap., currents and the rotation of the earth are what move the weather patterns around. Weather is intitially created over oceans. If you want to say God creates weather, fine. That is the mechanism He uses. He's got a big tool chest.

We could have a rise in temperature, followed by a relatively rapid drop. No, not like in the movie. Not in your lifetime, so, hey why should you give a damn? Hate to be political, but if conservatives love kids so much, why do they want to trash the planet the kids will inherit...oh, I forgot, giving a damn about the earth hurts PROFITS! AS BushCo has said, environmental concerns put onerous burdens on business. I used to loath the EPA, but I also remember what the air was like in much of the US in the 1960s. No, not LA- Denver, NYC, Chicago, much of the Northeast in general, NJ in particular, Delaware. Salt Lake City, forcrissake! There is no comparison today, the air is immensely better. The inversion prone cities, Dnever, SLC, LA, for instance, are way cleaner. The freeway signs warning of dangerous air in Denver are gone. Hey, let's not forget Gary, Indiana, Pittsburgh, or the Cayahoga river in Ohio, which caught on fire. Our modern engines in our cars make WAY more power than the old dirty ones did. And it is honest HP now, if you are a car guy. The cars are faster. Detroit fought the Feds hard over that, and really only got with it, when the Europeans started making very powerful cars in the mid 80s.

Grow up, and turn off Fox News. I know they think Global warming is hysterical. I make a point of reading both sides of an argument. BTW, if the water rises a few INCHES, a vast amount of Florida will disappear.

As for Japanese sending us hurricanes, that is absurd.
