There was one chick in particular that ignored us when we put our hands up. It didn't even matter if we did the emergency hand gesture behind our chairs either. Ever notice the program super assholes never post so we can tell them about theirselves?"

I liked that one too, but decided to change for awhile. Someone else had picked out the other one because I was clueless as how to get one.

Now that I'm looking at this one I look to damn cheery. Happy go lucky people have always bugged me.

You know, the Kool-Aide is what killed the cult followers, not what made them follow.

Nope, it was the poison put into the kool aid at the direction of the guru and fully known to all the faithful. Even that wasn't enough. It was their willingness to drink the poison that killed them. Well, that or their parents' willingness to pour it down their throats.

It can't just be stupidity, there are smart cult members.

Even smart people want (need) to be accepted and loved...a cult often takes care of this function...

Vulnerability, I believe that Vulnerability makes one suseptable to brainwashing.....If a person or child is brainwashed.......they had a spot for the cults to get in b/c cults like to prey on people that have some sort of desperate need to be fulfilled......ie, parents, kids, relatives. My parents in particular were vulnerable to it b/c they had a failing marriage and a teen that they did not understand or could not understand at the time, and professionals and friends at the time told them that the program would help all. As for me, I was vulnerable because I had an unhappy family life due to the "failing marriage" and abuse suffered by me at my fathers hands.
I do not believe that these are the only factors that makes one suseptable to mind control techniques though, as these are only a few examples.

warm regards,
-DP

I bet you a whole bunch of folks were waaay happier than they appeared to be when they thought the building was really going to close. They just had nothing to gain by acting happy. It (if it were actually happening) would have been a win-win situation for an upper phaser...they could pretend like they were upset...for their families and stuff...and could secretly be extatic...there was nothing to gain by rubbing it in staff's face...at least if you were an upper phaser...

I think that the misbehaviors were probably just too happy to even react...

Now that you mentioned it I remember that night.  I'd been there a couple of months at that point.  I remember thinking this is good, then started to smell a rat.  Damn mind games.
