Honestly? I think the science geeks will turn out to have been as wrong as the 'coming ice age' geeks. Those deadly, weapons grade bugs will fall flat and the things they want us to fear will too. Whatever problem exists that's enough of a problem to really mess up our day will be entirely unexpected.
