In my experience, the ONLY interest the Mormon Church has in non memebrs is as a recruiting field.

Well ... there is a reason Mormonism is the fastest growing religion in the world (and it ain't because Joseph Smith was any more Godly than the average snakeoil salesman). Personally, I have no respect for the Utah Mormon government officials and lawmakers who for years have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the suffering of children airlifted into their state by the thousands and forced into teen help facilities. Hell, kids have died on their watch and not one program owner/operator was sent to prison. Mormons who profess to be so appalled at what's going on behind the closed (locked) doors of these facilities should get off their asses and do something about what's going on in their OWN STATE.

Second, if you think it's hard getting out of a behavior modification cult-like program, try leaving the Mormon faith and see what happens.

I'm an ex-mormon and a straight survivor. Getting out of straight was a heck of a lot more difficult than having my name removed from the church rolls. Granted, I had to write a letter and pester the "bishop" of my ward to do it, but after about 6 months of harranging them, they took my name out of the "book of life".
I'm not familiar with their God. My God is teh one in the old and new testement. Not the BOM

The Mormon Church also took up collections of money for ALL of the victims - they raised many millions of dollars for the red cross and others helping. They do this all of the time and should be comended for it. They also gave a huge sum to the Tsunami Victims and continue to contribute food, money, clothing and other relief to the starving in Africa. I'm sure other churches do similar good deeds - that's what churches are for - to help the needy, the poor and destitute.

Remember, just because Catholic priests molested children does not mean that all Catholics are bad or that the religion is bad. Just because some Mormons started this industry does not mean they are all bad or that they all support it. I know many Mormons who are now aware of what is going on and who are appalled. We will have their support."

Yes it does. The Catholic Church actively hid the child molesters from the law, by moving them around in a kind of shell game. The Mormons do the same with spousal and child abusers. Also, they are both organized religions, and therefore FUCKED UP AND WRONG. All religions suck.

Well .. the Mormons do require their followers to donate 10 percent of their income but I always thought it was so they could afford to build those oppulent and wholly segretationist "temples" of theirs.
Sheesh. What would Jesus say? Turning away temple-goers b/c they aren't "Mormon" enough?
