Amazingly, Virgil Newton did the same damned thing. I heard it through the grape vine that he even had practicing rights at a local hospital in NJ. Evidently, he fronted as a published author, director of a couple of teen rehabs and whatever and they just never did get around to checking which variety of PhD he had or the issuing institution.
This is a very important cautionary tale, imho! Whenever you walk into a hospital or doctor's office, you should be very credulous and skeptical. Don't assume that, just because someone's managed to acquire an impressive looking piece of paper that that necessarily proves competence and good intentions. You have to ask question, you have to check facts regardless.
