The Boston Herald ran an article today explaining how Brat Camp has made the head of the Child Welfare League of America one "unhappy camper." The CWLA is requesting that the Government Accounting Office conduct a inquiry into "boot camps" and provide Congress with a report. The article echoes some of my concerns about the wide variation of quality from program to program and the issues of confidentiality and exploitation in the current ABC TV program. More... From the mail bag: The kids are either kidnapped out of their beds at night by paid "teen escorts" (what a euphemism!) or they instruct the parents to lie to them to get them there.
