This HB 628 seems like a good start...better than no regulation at all. It sounds as if the authors are serious and well intentioned. Did SCA and MMS support this?

For you history buffs that want to get it straight, MMS was never affiliated with Spring Creek Lodge. The original Spring Creek Community that was founded in Thompson Falls in the early eighties sold out to the current Spring Creek Lodge in the mid nineties. There was no affiliation and the only similarity is the name. The folks that started MMS were staff at the original SCC, not at SCL

It is true that Spring Creek supported the registration requirements in HB 628. I was there and I know this to be true. I'm sure some of the stuff some of the posters recite in this blog is true, but this is my first time visiting this site and I find it full of inaccuracies.

SCA did support HB 628. Lobbying in favor of it was what they spent most of that lobbying money on. MMS jumped in at the end, when it became clear regulation was going to happen anyway. But most programs in Montana supported it at some point. They all went and testified at the hearings.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
