True, but not like this one. They go for cases like terrorist-related activities, tracing the release of a virus, or finding who's been breaking into major corporations' websites. Those are the hacking cases they go for; nothing like this. Trust me, I know a lot about hacking.

What about the privacy of the students who have been exploited by Whitmorites?  What about the private information given to the Sudweeks by parents and then splashed all over this site?  What about the things discussed in "group" and then put on this site -- for what reason?  I never did understand the purpose of any of these.  What was it supposed to accomplish?
So what if someone read e-mails or whatever?  That doesn't seem any different than what the Whitmore has done.  In fact, it is minor.
