KC and the Sunshine Band. The only connection that comes to mind:  When I was on my program, there was a black guy named rufus that was close friends with either KC or one of the band members. He was an oldtimer that came in and related on a regular basis. He spoke about knowing Kc and the band during one of the seed xmas programs as I recall.

Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized; nor should any organization be formed to lead or to coerce people along any particular path. You must climb towards the Truth. It cannot be \'stepped down\'

Oh Yeah, I definitely remember this, and Doc got up to make a speech about his support and he made some comment about the "a few of the guys in the band could use a program like this", it was pretty uncomfortable. watching johnny carson a few years later did I realize that most of the guys in the band were stoned most of the time...

Hey!

I am a product of "The Seed" in 1972 and you cannot classify it as a cult, actually if you didn't experience the seed, then you have no valid accusations to make. I am 47 now and I remember those days when I was 15/16 yrs. old and in the seed in St. Pete behind Tyrone mall, those were very memorable days!!!

Art Barker was a real nice down to earth guy that was interested in gettin the hippie youth on a clean path, it worked for me, cause I have been straight since!

Ummmm, do you understand what a cult is? That's part of the definition right there.

Welcome Roachie!

Just a point of minor correction...the seed opened in St Pete In Late june of 1973. Not to worry tho, most people have fuzzy memories of when they were there and what occured.

Welcome again! New members are usually asked to tell us something you remember from then. What stands out in your mind...

PS...I was there also, starting about 1 or 2 weeks after it opened, in early July, 1973. We probably know each other, or at least knew each other back then.
