They are about as mormon as hitler was protestant, which is to say that no religion would suggest that what they do to kids is morally right.
People who run these types of places (cults) are motivated by one of three things, the majority by money, most of the rest by power and influence, and a smaller number use their power over others to obtain sex.
WWASP although there are numerous cases of sexual abuse in their facilities is mostly motivated by money and power.
There have been many media stories about WWASP but there are many reasons why these abuses are not widely known. THe biggest is that these abuses occur behind closed doors, in facilities that deliberately set up shop in rural areas. The abuses are often so catastrophic to the victims and their parents that they do not want to relive them by coming forward. In addition they are often threatened by these groups and after being swindled to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars they have no wherewithal to withstand a legal attack by these groups if they come forward.
These groups also have a lot of money, lawyers and influence and threaten media organizations with libel suits if they publish unflattering reports about them. In addition there is an extreme bias in the media and society in general against teenagers so when these self-proclaimed experts say they can fix a kid they are often taken at their word by parents and reporters alike.
There is some testimony that talks about the "treatment" at wwasp facilities available at
