There really are no simple solutions. Illegal immigration is a huge problem in the border states.  If the government is going to do nothing then they should just allow all those who are here illegally to be given a permit to work for a certain period of time. This would be a way to identify them by name, residence, occupation, education level and so forth.  They could also be offered free immunizations and HIV screening.  It could also be a way to raise some revenue if a fee is attached to the permit - say $100. This would put those who try to sell illegal documents out of buisness.  The aliens could also be offered low cost dental and health insurance.  It would help our economy instead of hurting it.  The illegal would need to reapply for a work permit every year.  This would definitely be better than what we have now.  We'd save money on deportation and incarceration.

They'll keep coming as long as there are employers that will hire them.  Many employers claim they'd go broke if they didn't hire cheap, illegal labor.  The solution is to seize the businesses that hire illegal aliens.

What bullshit.  I was born here, speak the language, and don't violate the law.  Why should illegal aliens get something like dental and health for free when I can't afford it?
