AFF is a cult awareness organization which I subscribe too. Go this this site AFF, Straight, Seed and Synanon . They don't yet give any data on these organizations, but they do, at least, list them.

The two most renowned, nation-wide cult awareness groups used to be the old Cult Awareness Network in Chicago (I was a member of the Maryland affiliate) and AFF which was the more scholarly of the two (I subscribe to their newsletter.) By some legal processes, the Church of Scientology, one of the groups that AFF and the old CAN were reporting on, is now owned by the Church of Scientology which is headed by David Miscaviage, one of L. Ron Hubbard's former servants, and who was also a former camerman.
