The answers are provided by Reverend Doctor V. Miller Newton during deposition for the Fred Collins trial on 2-23-83.

Q. . . what were the periods of time without proper sleep [regarding marathoning]?
A. Oh, a couple, three days. Medically that is of no harm whatsoever. I am acquianted with sleep research and it's not medically harmful but I just don't like it. Kids need four or five hours sleep at night so I put a change to that.

Q. Can you cite to us one of them, one of the places where it cites sleep research?
A. One is Substance Abuse by Sidney Cohen, a psychiatrist of the National Institute of Mental Health.
