« on: March 28, 2005, 08:40:00 PM »
My son is bothering me to allow him to spend the sumemer with Ginger Warbis and her family. I  THINK it is a good idea because he will be able to learn the fine art of website design. Ginger, please tell me whether or not you will be able to accomadate him. He really has his hopes up.

Well, ok. But you'll have to pay me $5k/mo plus room and board. I might slap him silly and tie him to post out in the rain if he doesn't act right and I'm kicking him out if he doesn't comply w/ all demands. And I'm not sure if just one summer is enough time for him to earn the right to speak to us, let alone learn website development. But you're the parent. We're always happy to take your money. Oh, and no refunds.

There is so much in the bible against which every insinct of my being rebels, so much so that I regret the necessity which has compelled me to read it through from beginning to end. I do not think that the knowledge I have gained of its history and sources compensates me for the unpleasant details it has forced upon my attention.

Did your son actually receive a formal invitation from Ginger?  Perhaps you should first send him to learn some etiquette!  Then, he should go to school, to learn how to read (just because his parents are peasants doesn't mean he has to be one also!)  THEN, maybe Ginger will allow him over for the summer.  Just don't be suprised if he comes back resentful of you.

Will it be co-ed, Ginger?  Might sign my daughter up too.  She is a picky eater, tho. Can I furnish a menu of her "favorite foods?"

Well, I only have one couch in the house and another down in the unheated basement. But, what the hey, in keeping w/ industry standards, we can build a frame shed out back and lock em all up in there at night. The more the merrier!

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.
-- Ben Franklin At the signing of the Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.

Ginger, no need to build a shed. Just read on the Whitmore site that the Suds have kids sleeping on top of and under the traveling bus. Got any old broken down cars around? The kids can just sleep under/on top of the cars. That will work. Kids don't need or deserve new facilities being built for them, not just for a summer camp anyway.

No, no, Ginger.  Don't spend the money on having a shed built, don't do the labor yourself.  Let the kids sleep on the ground outside under tents made of a tarp thrown over a clothesline and then make the kids build the shed.  Don't you know *anything* about running a Program?

Hey, have you got any ed cons referring to you yet?

Will you give me a kickback if I do?

I don't have any qualifications except I really ***caaaaare*** about These Kids.  But that doesn't matter, does it?

About that kickback...I won't tell the parents about it if you don't. 'k?

How big is your yard? These kids will have to grow their own food, you know?  That is if and when they eat.

You don't need a shed.  Make them sleep under a tarp.  Call it wilderness therapy.

So, lets say I join up in this up-and-coming little RTC...

If I bring some ropes and a riding crop, can I say its "wilderness survival" and "equine therapy"?

Know what? I've changed my mind. I found a simpler way to rake in the big bucks w/o all the potential liability. Instead of taking kids in, I think I'm just going to take out my phone book and see if I can get referal fees from escort services who specialize in S&M.
