It's a New Day!
« on: October 13, 2003, 04:10:00 AM »
....and God has blessed all program parents with another opportunity to "celebrate their children home".

Where they belong -- instead of growing up in an institutionalized-style program where it is a category offense for a child to resist the authoritarian control of another child.

No lectures, no guilt-tripping. Just a simple request that you follow your heart, and when you can, throw away the parent manuals and unplug yourself from the support groups that have slowly but surely become the lifeline to your children.

There is honor in surrending, laying down your arms and loving the blessed child who calls you mother (or father).

Thanks for that, Anon!

To the parents who's children are still in the program. I can tell you that a good many of us spent a lot of time daydreaming about just this. Even if your kid said they hated you, even if you believed it, even if they thought they believed it too, it's not true.

It took over 10 years, but finally, years after I fought my way out of the program through the courts, my dad finally admitted to me that it had been a mistake, that he had been taken in and that he was sorry. That was almost 20 years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes to think of it.

The Internet is now safe for free speech.

Amen Amen Amen

I like you

I like what you wrote

I pray many will say "I recieve it" and ask to have their hearts turned back in touch with their children.

How would you want to be treated if you were the child? please consider it.
