Sooooooooo ridiculous......

What is the difference between normal teenage behavior and teenage drug abuse and/or dependency? According to PFC, not a damn thing.

Source: recent article,  Pathway Family Center.

I just had to point out the criteria that Pathway Family Center claims are Suspicious changes/
Behavior changes among teen drug users:

Here are the behaviors that Pathway claims are indicators of drug abuse:

• Changes in overall attitude and personality.

• Changes in habits at home, loss of interest in family and family activities.

• Difficulty paying attention, forgetfulness.

• Sudden over-sensitivity, tantrums, resentful behavior.

• General lack of motivation, energy, self esteem and an "I don't care" attitude.

• Moodiness, irritability or nervousness.

• Excessive need for privacy, unreachable.

• Secretive or suspicious behavior.

• Chronic dishonesty.

They have got to be kidding right?..........  Wrong! They're serious!

Who is the quack that is assessing kids? Probably a brainwashed teenage peerstaff, that's who.

This is the scare tactic used to begin the long road to bizarre "addiction treatment" that can only be administered by PFC. Ahem..(cult).

Parents are given a list of normal teenage behaviors and are told they are signs of drug abuse. Give me a break. How could any rational being write this list with a straight face?

With the exception of chronic dishonesty, I have exhibited all of these behaviors within the past week. I don't abuse drugs. Hmmmmm. How can that be?

I have known dozens of people personally who have "experimented" with drugs and alcohol through high school and college. Some of these people still drink quite a bit at parties sometimes, yet I see no evidence of them being alcoholics. All of these individuals are doing fine in their life and don't have any drug or alcohol addiction problems. These people are healthy, productive members of society. Most of them were rebellious as teenagers and clashed with their parents but eventually grew up. So these healthy people exhibited most of the warning signs and turned out to be just fine, normal people. Hmmmmm.

I can't say the same thing for the people I was in KHK with. Some are dead, some are in prison and some are scarred for life due to the psychological torment and abuse they received in the name of drug treatment. The individuals that are doing well don't want to discuss their time in KHK because the memories are so awful. Most that I have talked to admit that they lied about their drug use before KHK in order to progress and never did anything destructive until after they got out. The same is true for me.

There is a pattern here, kids who go into programs get worse eventually and kids who are allowed to go through normal life changes do well overall. There have been scientific studies by the surgeon general and NIMH that support what I have written here.

Programs hurt kids. It's a fact, and PFC's "list-o-warning signs" is just one more uncanny example of how departed from reality this organization is from the accurate psychology of teen angst. Sounds to me like PFC is still preaching Straight Inc. doctrine. Yep, the inner core of the cult is the same as it has been for decades.

Now we can help the geriatric population get off of Geritol and aspirin. oh, and don't forget about that Excedrin, Bufferin, Kaopectate and Bladderseal

From the front page of the pfc website, the nwitimes article about teen depression... well, there's a bit of disugustion, I mean discussion going on, since the PFC supporter has made false statements regarding the accreditation of PFC. Someone posting as Farberwilski has uttered the truth of the matter. One day sooner than later, PFC will have to concede their deliberate attempts to discredit facts and admit their wrongdoing. This reply to "mike" is here since the Times doesn't normally publish anti PFC information.

In reply to the PFC supporter poster named "Mike":

Mike, you are mistaken. The fact is that COA placed PFC on probation in 2007 and it continued until PFC switched to CARF. If you look at COA standards vs CARF standards, COA is more 'stringent'. In fact, PFC was placed on probation in 2003. CARF has simply ignored the complaints that have been filed against PFC by former clients and concerned Americans. In Indiana, the DMHS has never visited the Indianapolis PFC facility. In Ohio, PFC applied for re-certification in September of 2007 and was not given the certificate until June of 2008. Given the lack of oversight by the Indiana licensing agency policy, it cannot be stringent.
