« on: February 21, 2003, 07:17:00 PM »
Two well known and high profile in the state are working with ISAC for all survivors who feel they have a case either against a program or the state.
All information must be sent to ISAC's paralegal first for review and then will be forwarded to the appoproiate lawyer to determine case .
You may email the detail of your complaint or case to
isac@tampabay.rr.com

If this is in FL, are they taking on clients of Growing Together, Inc. in Lake Worth?

This is for all clients against ANY abusive program in the State of Florida. If you feel you have a case or complaint against the State of Florida , DCF, ANY abusive program send in the details of your case to isac@tampabay.rr.com
Please make sure you fill out a synopsis of what happened with as many details as possible , if you filed a police report please obtain a copy of it at the police department where it was filed.
Once you send it to ISAC it will be reviewed and based on volume of people sending in ISAC will get back to you within ten days, usually three by email so remember to include your contact information and any contact information of those involved. ISAC WILL NOT contact those individuals that you list as involved but if you do have a case the attorney will need this information.

If you are not in the State of Florida you may send in your case information anyway as ISAC is working to secure attorneys in all states where programs exsisted and perhaps the Florida lawyer will have a referal to an attorney in another state.

ALL information sent to ISAC for a case review will be held under attorney client privlege as only the paralegal will be the one reviewing it then it will be sent to the attorney.

Marti,

I thank you for your hard work on this. Could you tell us what the letters ISAC stand for? Also, could you give us the names of the lawyers involved?

Thanks,
Survivor of Straight-Springfield

ISAC stands for international survivors action committee
Unfortunatly, we can not or should I say that it would not be wise to reveal their names on this board as we do not want them pressured by shall we say "outside sources" not to work with the survivors.

So the lawyers agree with this feeling that they should not be open about working on this case?

In putting together any case in these types of circumstances, I would not want it widely published as to what I am doing until I have gathered sufficient information and evidence to launch the suit.  At that point I would become the attorney of record.  It seems to me that the paralegal will be serving a useful purpose in filtering out frivolous or bogus claims.  Excellent going, ISAC!

In the case of Straight survivors, what would you consider "frivolous or bogus" cases? Doesn't anyone who was put in Straight have a case against them?

If you think you have a case, please send it to ISAC. The job of the paralegal is to determine if any statute of limitations affects the possible case and if there is enough evidence to proceed. We'd prefer not to discuss it too much on this public forum, but rest assured, we're very serious.

Was this the Morgan Collins Gilbert thing that did not pan out? Or what? The reason i ask is that many people who are reading this were not around when this thread originally went up...

Statute of limitations is not the problem.  What will make this case fly is if the lawyers can find someone or persons responsible that has money.  Money is what will drive the lawyer to take it.  So far, this has not happened.   Good luck.  I'll keep checking this thread out.
