I think I made it beacuse I wanted to prove Straight WRONG.  I wanted to prove to my mother that she made a big mistake...which I never even had a drug problemin the first place  My therapist after Staright told me that MY "TICKET AWAY FROM MY MOTHER & STRAIGHT was my education"....This is and was MY DRIVE!

Hi Newbe,

No after 4 days of those people I had no desire to hang out with them....however, after Staight I had a job in the orange mall & a girl named Kristen came up to me....she was on level 5 then went home & screwd up....She also worked in the mall...I was very angry told her that I was shutting Straight down etc....She supported them I told me she could never do such a thing.....

By the way I treat patients & specialize with teen...utlilation people annoy me..

Hi newbe....my name is Nicole & I was in Straight Yorba Linda for 4 days total then AWOLed.  To make a long story short I came back after jumping out a window from a host home.  I eventually was taken to the ER & reported Straight to the State license dept.  In June 1990 I AWOLed and by Aug 1990 Straight was ordered to shut down.  By Oct 1990 Straight illegally took the clients to Dallas.  It was all over the LA time /OC Register etc.  I have made many testimonies to Social Services.

If Cheney were any more to the RIGHT THE WORLD WOULD TIP!!!!!

Just to name a few on his track record: He Voted NO on the ERA back in the 80ies, No on all abortion even in the case of rape or incest, No on Martin L King Hoildays and NO on the release of Mandela in S. Africa......But YES to his oil buddies.....go figure...... :scared:

AS a loyal DEMOCRAT I can hosently say yes, the party has problems.  We are not fighting hard enough and have been way to PC trying to be nice.  However, I remember at the 2000 convention for GORE a bunch of radicals for Nader attacked me and my husband.  They said we were corporate sell outs and the Party was no different than the Republicans.  Our response was, "Sometimes in life you have to make compromises in order to be elected."  I feel like going back to those Nader supporters and saying, "Is this what you wanted...over 1000 Americans dead in the Middle East. Your vote for Nader went to Bush!!!"  

Kerry is not interested with our cause right now because he is just trying to get in the White House.  Right now my cause is to get Bush and his administration booted back to Texas.  Once Bush is out OUR CAUSE is much more likely to be heard!!!!

This is one of the MOST important Elections EVER!  Not only for Our Cause but for future policies that will affect kids!

I remember my intake back in 1990 at So Cal. Walking through the Straight door not knowing what the hell was going on.  I remember vividly looking at the big picture of BUSH Senior and his right wing Republican "WAR ON DRUGS PROPAGANDA." Feeding into the fears of our WHITE Affluent parents "Well our President endorses such a great program - as well as our former first lady THIS must be OK."  

Come on people!  How can you affiliate yourselves with a party that empowers Mel Sembler, his money, and his bought Ambassadorship.   After MY Straight experience I vowed to help the party that will try to disempower these fascist ASSHOLES!   :tup:

Remember many Jewish kids such as myself were victims of Straight!  I have run into many kids who were Jewish that were in Straight. Sembler and EXECS accepted any kid who's parents could pay the intake price in full regardless of religion or color.

Welcome, I was in the CA Sraight in 1990 & now practice as a licensed therapist in Calif.  I agree with the other post.....find a therapist that will validate you and who is very supportive.  We all have been victimzed ENOUGH! Were you only in Dallas or trasfered like so many others?

Has anyone ever tried to contact Michael Moore?  I wrote him and email Entitled "Victims of Republicans War on Drugs need your help." If anyone could expose Sembler & Straight it's Michael Moore.  I will continue to contact him until I get a reply.  Can you imagine what a great documentry he would create about Straight INC!  :idea:

The LA Times wrote when Kids was closed down for child abuse & Straight moved in "It was the same DOG different leash." Authorities Worry!

I remember a few kids who said they were in the Kids program.  But I was only in Straight 4 days.
