I started out in the Oaks at the age of 8 and it was pure "Hell" The staff would get you in the swimming pool and hold your legs and make you paddle with your arms until you got so tired you didn't care if you stayed above the water or now.
Their was a lot of sexual abuse between the staff and the students. All this before the school got really bad. I was their from 1958 until 1965. At least back then no one was killed! It got much worse after the school sold out in bankruptcy in the later years.
even now, I won't go near a swimming pool!
