(if you really believe he's gone, which I don't)
Oh he's gone.  He failed in his mission to incite legal action between CALO and Fornits.

It's interesting that Ken only claimed copyright on the names and treatment profiles.  If he had wanted to, he could have claimed a whole lot more.  It would appear this particular program director does not mind open discussion and debate about his program and has even go so far as to post here.  We've never seen that before.  Why?

The Troubled Teen Industry / CALO's Unanswered Questions
« on: June 22, 2009, 10:26:55 PM »
  • How, exactly, did "Well Proxied" know exactly how to access the personel files on CALO's server?
  • If it was an inside job, who did it and what would be the motivation?  It's fairly predictable that the files would be published.
  • Consider that "well proxied" left no way to contact him/her and it seems as if he/she had no intention of ever editing the posts.  If that's the case, the motivation for his/her actions would seem to be to lure CALO into legal action.  What for?  Who stands to benefit?

What if -- what if "well proxied" is not a "survivor", not a member of fornits, and indeed, not on the "anti-program" side at all.  What if his/her actions were that of somebody seeking to see either fornits, CALO, or both out of the picture.  What could be the motivation for such an action?  Since we can safely assume this was at least a partial inside job, one has to ask why somebody would do it.  If it was out of care for the kids with full knowledge the information contained within the treatment profiles were fictional, why ensure they get out into public?  That doesn't sound like the action of somebody who truly cares about the wellbeing of the kids.

What if the employee did something bad -- really bad, was fired for it, and decided to portray his/herself as some sort of a "whistleblower" before word of what he/she did spread?  If the "whistleblower" label sticks, any accusations come off as revenge and are automatically discarded as desperate attacks on the charachter.  What if the "whistleblower" isn't really altruistic at all.  Is it possible?  Isn't it possible that one of the staff members let go could very well be a bona-fide child abuser trying to get away with what he/she did?  If that's the case, is it possible some of the allegations made against CALO are untrue or at the very least exaggerated?  Is it possible that sometimes "program-fighters" have had ulterior motives?  Consider Sue Scheff.

A lot of "newbies" appearing to defend CALO. A new who tactic? A calo tactic? Anyone want to guess?
Not a newbie.  Just a concerned observer who has been around for some time.  I believe that Fornits is being played against CALO and vice-versa and I intend to make that case (hence the name I chose).  If you're wise, you'll consider all possibilities at this point because if you've been paying close attention, not everything around here adds up and not everything is as it seems.  I don't care about whether the program is wrong or right.  I am not the judge.  I only care about the truth,  and even if it is unpleasant, I intend to help expose it.  All I want is for both sides of this story to be represented and I truly hope Ken Huey will come out to tell it at some point.  I can't do it for him.  All I can do is point out irregularities and ask questions.

Ken Huey admits to overseeing torture on his website, as a way of positively establishing his "qualifications."

http://caloteens.com/staff.aspx

“He joined Provo Canyon School at the beginning of 2003 and was named as their Director of Business Development in June of 2004. He left Provo Canyon in July of 2005 and joined West Ridge Academy as their Director of Clinical Services.”
I truly would like to believe that "that was then and this is now," and that CALO uses different techniques (the dogs, for example) and has gone in a different direction, even with those staff members. Isn't it possible that the staff members left there in order to start a place with a new and different methodology?

Perhaps he left Provo because he disapproved of what went on there.  Perhaps he was even let go or reprimanded for raising objections.

I will not resort to name calling whereas your comments are indicative you don't have the ability to see the whole picture.  As far as the ropes course, it is not about being "wussies."  It is about safety which prevents accidents the school could get sued for.
To be fair, at this juncture we have no idea what was going on off-camera.  Perhaps there was a big pit of foam below that we don't see, making an otherwise unsafe activity safe.  At this point we only have one side of the story which is largely based on speculation.
