Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Comment from first time user...

Hello Kevin:  I do not remember you, but I was in Kids in Jersey in 85-86.  I do not live far from where you are now.  In fact, I work in Greenbelt.  I am glad to hear all is well.  You may remember me because I was always rebellious on the girls side.  I was also on every phase about 10 times each.  They tried to set me back after graduation too.  They did manage to sit me back in group as a graduate, but afterward, I ran away because I did not want to start all over again.  I was there for a little over two years.

 Hey Kris:  what's up?  I am doing well.  I am now a legal secretary for a law firm here in Maryland.  My husband is in the Army.  Presently, he is in Kuwait awaiting war.  I also have a 14 year old son who is great.  How about you?  Do you have any children or are you married?  I remember very vividly.

I tried to be fair given the circumstances.  I would hope that I did not ever abuse anyone that was in my care. I was not treated very well at several host homes.  At times, my hands were tied because of staff.  I hope to hear from you soon.

This is Kelly Smith, and I was in Kids of Bergan County in the 80's.  In response to your question Kris, yes..I "finally" graduated.  The only reason is because I turned 18 and they knew they could not keep me any longer.  They also sat me in group after I graduated.  I just found out about this site from my brother.  My older brother, Aaron Smith, who was in Straight in St. Petersburg, Florida, died of a heroine overdose in 97.  Straight has screwed up my life beyond belief.  I have often wonder what became of people that I knew;  however, I cannot remember a lot of names.
