The Ridge Creek School / Hidden Lake Academy / TRIPS
« on: May 22, 2007, 06:23:42 AM »
yeah, they USED to have good trips...especially during break week...but then for a while...nothing...now it is just lame stuff...really provides incentive for kids to get off or stay off restrictions to be "trip elegible"

The Ridge Creek School / Hidden Lake Academy / It is really SAD

as you say, those who know...know!
and you put it very eloquently as always!
apparently you have either dispite it or out of spite for it continued with your quest for knowledge and it has paid off...you are always very well "spoken" and hopefully folks will see when they read your posts that even if you say it was a 30" catfish, they will realize that regardless if it was or wasn't that it was still a really big catfish!

The Ridge Creek School / Hidden Lake Academy / More Staff Gone?

mary,
that was very well put...it made a lot of sense and was done with maturity as well as experience...
if you don't mind i would just like to add that since the guests child will be 18 in only a short time (shorter time than the program) if you were to put her in a place like, or actually place her in HLA she will walk at 18 and the staff will not be able to do anything to stop her...she will get to the end of the road at the bottom of the driveway and the staff will have no choice but to let her go...and they will not be able to go after her...the school will notify the local police that she is gone but other than that, she will be an adult and it will be totally and completely up to you to look for her....and depending on where you live and how long it would take you to get to georgia...you would lose precious time and during that time (as it has happened in the recent past) she could be picked up by the "wrong" locals and then God have mercy on her...there is a lot of meth up here and if she is looking it isn't hard to find...or she may get to the bus stationand then you may lose her forever...

and during all of that...the school will have most likely made a great deal to you so that you pay the tuition in full and then (the least of your worries) you would be out any and all of that money, too...just adding insult to injury...

please, guest, take heed to what mary has said...she knows from the experience of being a studen and knows what she is talking about with older students...

take care and God bless...i am sorry that you are dealing with this situation...think carefully before you make any decisions...especially ones that could lose you your daughter...

i think that the staff who were good and stayed did so because they really thought that their being there was good for the kids...that in some way they could go around the rules in a way that they could really help some of the kids...and some of the staff really did connect with the students...but in the end, they would get called down because they weren't following whatever rule of the week was supposed to be implemented...so the staff that was actually doing good were either fired or forced to quit...
now that isn't everyone...but i did see some that were like that...
and yes, the rules constantly changed...in the sense of...the big 3 "agreements" were the same (drugs, sex, violence) but what constituted as drugs, sex and violence seemed to be very subjective...especially the violence part...
and what made up a 3 day or a 7 day depended on who caught you and what kind of mood they were in ...that was just a little piece for the students...the staff rules changed constantly...and don't even get started with the parent handbook...you couldn't get a new edition out without having to tell THOSE parents that the book they got was already in need of editing...
when departments or staff were rolling smoothly and things seemed to be working in the machine...BAM! change...len strives on chaos...ask anyone who worked for them...the only thing that was constant was the change...

Quote
"I think the thing people need to remember is that all of the kids there were there for a reason, and even if they dont see it now I think eventually theyll understand that they were better off for having gone to HLA."

hmmm...sounds like a staff...wonder if this is fj under guest now??

The Ridge Creek School / Hidden Lake Academy / refunds
« on: April 20, 2007, 12:28:17 PM »
a lot of the reason it has always been a problem was instead of putting the pre paid funds in to a seperate account which they could not touch except for the current months payment, they put it all in the same account as the general funds (aka bill gray's (when he was there for 10+ years) and len's piggy bank) and spend it as if it were theirs - which really, it is not, not until the incidentals or tuition is due for that month...
if they would have done that, it shouldn't have ever been a problem refunding monies that were rightfully due...BUT...well, you know the rest...

well, well, aren't we full of ourselves...
regardless of what you think or what you say...i stand behind the truth, you can call me what you would especially since apparently i have hit a nerve...but in the end...you will still be a petty thief and snake oil salesman and i will be, well, you know...
oh, and i guess you are calling all on this board cowards that aren't "as brave as you are"...don't you know...anonimity is the basis of many programs and it works well with them...i would think that all that time in rehab and the hoose-gow you would know about those...i guess i was mistaken...

"The world needs people like me to keep cowards like you safe and in your proper place. You need people like me in this world to protect your sorry ass."

as far as that statement goes...you spit in the face of every man and woman who has given their life to protect the freedoms of worms like you and you should be ashamed that you put yourself in the same catagory as them...but i know that the real heros in this world would fight to the death so that you keep the right to say such narsasistic (sp), pompus and ridiculous statements....to them i say thank you...my family and close friends are all apart of that sect, one that you would NEVER be able to compare to no matter how much you think of yourself..

The Ridge Creek School / Hidden Lake Academy / revel
« on: April 17, 2007, 08:27:46 PM »
it wouldn't matter if i told you who i was since you never remembered me when you saw me practically every day... and outraged about your first offense dui...lemme tell you...even one moment driving drunk in an environment that is FULL OF KIDS is a stupid, selfish, and dangerous thing to do and someone that would do it on a nightly basis is more of a coward than i will ever be...
so if you think that you will come on here and be "the hero" i have a feeling that you will be sorely mistaken...once folks see what a snake oil salesman you actually are...
and make no mistake...i don't support ANYONE who puts the lives of children in danger and that was you...nightly...and HLA daily...
