"It is a shame that immature kids were subjected to Elan. When I was there I saw some hold it together long enough to make coordinator and graduate. Years later these same "wonder kids" are doing horrible! Then I saw the "screw ups" leave Elan and actually do o.k. Vice-versa.
Brain washing? who knows. Some of us truly needed a kick in the ass way back when (still do!) Elan had some pretty unconventinal methods when it came to punishments. I remember Tania M. called my dad to try and put me in the ring! I was 15 or 16 at the time, my dad requested to speak to me to hear what was going on they refused (of course) so he said NO WAY! She was actually mad! Poor thing was blood thirsty.
It was really gross how they made people turn like rabid pit bulls during gm's and rings. All that nasty spit flying, bad breath, verbal abuse, ect.
Were we that bad as teens to deserve all that? Only you know.
There comes a time that people need to let go of Elan's influence on their emotional psyche.
