The Troubled Teen Industry / who knows the procedure..

Just wondering if snyone out amongst this site has heard or knows of what the procedure is if one runs away from these schools. Is it in fact a crime to runaway? Would the coppers pick u up and  take you back? Or would they not get involved unless a true crime was comitted. Anyone have any idea?

For example if my 16 year old ran awy from home I could report them as a run away but really it is not a crime so the police rarely care. Plus the  judge in family law court mighht say something like "Well I cant force your 16 year old to live with you" And notice the qoutes.... :roll:

Due to the posts I have received from this forum on this I was able to call my sons dad and ask him if he gave the school permission to put our son on blackout, he hesitated and was very surprised that I knew this would be illegal to do without permisson from the parents, anyway I threatend to take him back to court for violating the little rights I have left , he told me that he did give the school permission and that I would be for sure getting my 5 minute phone call this Saturday with our son, so we will see.........

Ok, ok Thank you for giving me a reality check with the picture that you painted, you guys sre right, I never thoght about all of that I just got way depressed and wasnt thinking straight ill end this thread now and keep pressing forward, On ward soilder, my son and I will survive thhis and I dont want to be dead, I escpecially couldnt bare the thought of my son having to live with any more troubles caused by me. How selfish of me, thank you again.... Im sure we will run into each other again on this forum somewhere ..........Peace out

Tell me what has really ever been solved in the teen industry through the courts? sometimes one has to take things into their own hands, my fear of my son dieing out there is greater than my fear of doing prison time again. I am getting to an end and see no light except the obvious, Ive written and done and spent all that I can and still no relief has been found. This forum was my last hope, but if and when the time comes for a change my son could either be dead or just totaly in need of therapy cuz his heads all fucked up bythe time hes 18, so , whad-a-u-think-about-that

Sorry about the caps! Now that I look it is irratating huh, anyway, I wish I could show up but I live in California and he is in New York. Also, I have no custody of him. But regaurdless I am entitled to at least be able to ensure he is still alive and somewhat okay. I am so pissed off ! They tell me "Sorry you wont be getting your 5 minute phone call again this week because your son is still "in the corner" I got upset last time I spoke to the "contact" person because in ther handbook in the corner sanction says nothing about not being able to call your parents or corespondence of any kind. That would be under something called "Family Blackout" well the guy from the school hung up on me and I have yet to get anyone to call me back. I only get there answering machine and voice mailbox, no real people, and when they call to tell me I wont get to talk to my son, its always a student that calls. Thank you for the conformation on my gut feeling now Im real upset! now what???

BEFORE DENYING ME MY WEEKLY 5 MINUTE PHONE CALL FROM MY SON DOESNT THE SCHOOL HAVE TO FIRST GET MY PERMISSION TO PUT MY SON ON A "FAMILY BLACKOUT" AS THEY CALL IT? OR CAN THEY JUST TELL ME "SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK BUT YOU ARENT GO TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO YOUR SON" THIS HAS BEEN HAPENING FOR 4 WEEKS NOW AND IM GETTING REAL WORRIED. PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME BECAUSE I CANT GET AN ANSWER FROM ANYONE AT THE SCHOOL. OH YA, NO LETTERS EITHER. PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone heard of The Family Foundation school in Hancock New York, wel not only heard of but can provide anymore inside info. I heard of and read the book by Alexia Parks, read the posts after n I conducted the wwf search (that are fairly old by the way) Ive talked to one student from there, but was hoping for something more detailed more recent happenings. Please Anything good, bad , neither????????????

Thank you for both suggestions, nI emailed the Looking for help lead. I am just so desperate to get my son out of there, I can barley sleep at night knowing what he is going through fofr no reason other than his dad being a controlling, abusive asshole.And I really dont have any skeletons in my closet because Im up front and I dont need to hide or lie for any reason. Ive been to prison, Ive lost my kids before, Ive done many things in my life that Im not proud of but because it made me who I am today I wouldnt trade my expeirences for anything. (allthough a clean record would be nice!) when I went to prison I thought that was my payment for the crimes I comitted, I didnt know that it haunts you your whole life ! how niave I was! Just for the record I am not a theif and I am not violent, I went to prison for manafacturing and being an escaped felon. Just 4 the record I cant stand a theif or people who intentionally hurt someone else, but I have  totally cleaned up my life now and things just are fucked up because I still have to acknowledge the bad choices I made and consequnces to them (like the judge already having a bad image of me due to my past.)So, of course no one is going to listen to me, thats why I presented the FACTS in court because they spoke for themselves, unfortunately it fell upon the deaf ears of Judge Dale Wells.

nice advice, tryed the legal route at 16,000 dollars, even had an expert witness on the stand telling the judge this school was wrong for my son. Believe me I would picket the place evryday all day and I would constantly give my  son signs that I am around, but here lays a small problem, I live on the other side of the United States in California, and I also am raising 4 step kids ages 5, 6, 8, & a 16 year old who is pregnant plus have a 10 month old baby and my husband who is disabled for whom I also care for 24/7 allthough we are well off, Im not donald trump and cannot afford to fly myself plus all our kids out to NY. Its difficult, but my original question was not if anyone knew the laws I know the LAWS its if anyone has actually done it and gotten charged....Yes I know the laws but just as the facilities know certain laws they break them anyway and get away with it just wondering if they can do it why cant I?

If one were not court ordered to these boarding schools ,and attempted to run away could the staff members actually use force to make you stay? Can they physically make these kids stay? Wouldnt that be illegal? It should be set up like a criminal court, if parents are going to decied to relenquish there control and supervison over there teen, they should be heard in a court to decied if the teen is truly "out of control, defiant" Its pretty fucked up (i wasnt gunna say it but it fits) when this country gives child molesters, drug dealers, theives, killers, more rights then children who have not ever been tried and convicted of anything, but found guilty by a money making industry like The Family School. If all teens "behaved " Just think how much money they would loose, possibly even shut down, it bullshit!
