George,
If your Mother has concerns as we did, have her contact Isaccorp.org.-- Shelby Earnshaw. First
and foremost, tell her you are not manipulating,
rather telling the truth.  One has to weigh the good attributes of the school verses the bad ones
for each individual student.  The problem is they
treat all students the same.  They are not suppose to have court ordered children at the school;  HLA also states they do not accept
severe behaviorally troubled teeens.  The last
few months have proven that is not the case.

They have had several attempted suicides, children
beating up other children, and  several court ordered children. THe parents are kept in the dark, so they operate as they wish.  Everyone
is forbidden to talk about the school.

As far as strip searches, they continue.  HLA
feels they have no choice.  Although parents do sign a document, nowhere does it state 'strip
searches' shall be done, only urinalysis.

Have your mother read the warnings signs for
abusive schools(varying degrees) on isaccorp.org.
before tomorrow.  It may help.  Good luck.[ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-06-05 11:44 ]

It says in their manual and demographics that they do not take court ordered children.  If they did when youwere there and still are, is that a breach of faith or contract?  They are advertising that they do not take court ordered children.  How are they getting away with all this stuff?

When did this all take place?

Separate issue - I don't recall when you were at HLA, but I was wondering if you had court ordered
children attending then.  HLA states that they do not have court ordered children in their
demographic s, nor do they have severe behaviorally troubled children.  I know this is
not the case now.  Are they in violation of parental contracts because they now have court ordered children? Thanks

Hello?????????  the rainwashes it down?  It spreads it, into the ground.  The moisture from the ground, grows more bacteria, it festers. Themoisture from the rain feeds it.
That's why they have to clean it up.

Not on site 'yet'.  If they need to be, they will
be, the truth about the school is important, to
come out either way.  To lay things to rest.
However, Isaccorp. cannot investigate without
input.  Again, contact Isaccorp.@yahoo.com if
you have a complaint about any school. thanks

Hi.  Please ask your parents if it would be alright to register your families complaint against HLA. http://www.isaccorp.com /or e-mail at isaccorp@ yahoo.com- Attn:
Shelby Earnshaw.  We need all the help we can get.  They investigate schools and place them
on a watch list for other families. Thanks.[ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-04-26 15:41 ][ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-04-26 15:44 ]

Deborah,
'Til I can PM, please just send them an e-mail
with your story, as long as you can back it up.
That would be a great help.  Many thanks.

I honestly think that you have to understand that you are not a child that was placed there, that has lived a nightmare...or, a parent that desired a 'safe house' for their child.  Not all the children are behaviorally severe, so for HLA
to address them all as liars and manipulators is
ridiculous. One conveys their  experience: the HLA situation and other schools from a totally
different prospective than you.  You worked there. You cannot try to equate what you pathom to
what has happened to others.  I feel empathy for all children and families, their heart breaks, frustration.  Try and see it from their heart and eyes.  Something that may have been formed
with good intentions has gone wrong. It is human
error and power that makes these messes.  Everyone is responsible and accountable that
were at these schools and turned a blind eye.  Maybe you were lucky and did not see.  But, all one needs do, is really look into your childs' eyes and heart, and see, feel their fright.  It
is sad and everyone, counselors, Con Eds, family
that thought this was best, made a grave error and
continue to do so. It is in everyones best interest to heed our childs eyes, to listen to our gut...What we thought was our last hope for our children, was a grave mistake for some, and yes, for others, it may have saved their childs'
life.  But, there was and is a price. I think we
all learned that you can only trust your family.
There are good people everywhere, but family is home. And, to HLA and other schools like it,
I am sure there are new counselors that want to make a difference, but if they are good, they will leave..regretfully leaving the children behind.  It is a difficult situation for all..
But, counselors, when you leave, don't turn a blinds eye..I t will never 'really leave' you.
Remember what you were suppose to be teaching the children, "the truth will set you free...".
and,Shh, try and approach things from a different prospective.  It's now, about the children and the children after them.  It's not about you or the people on this post that complain, but go no further. If one does not let their voice be heard, they have none.  So, blow off the garbage thrown at you and think about what's really important.

All over.... droppings everywhere.  As I said in an earlier post,
a family could not walk their puppy there, it was
so gross. The point is, it needs to be cleaned up.  Geese like water, so naturally they will migrate to it and that means the lake, then any surroundings.  All we
had at one school was a stream in front of it,
down by the road.  The enire field was shut down -
no sports for one month. and, that was just a stream that brought them in by the hundreds. So,
one can imagine what the lake brings.

Deborah,

They had no explanation, just said to stay away from Natsap schools and the other one I mentioned.  So, they are clearly aware there are problems, I just am starting to feel the holes are so deep and the webs are so spun, it would take a massive sting to close them all down.  No one wants to do it, especially since 9/11...man
power, money...No I think it is time to go further.  I needed help once, 'couldn't get co-operation, until a reporter took the story to
our Post. Then, I was hepled, quickly.
Maybe it is time to see if the media is brave
enough, if their bosses will let them run with it. I mean we have Fox, MSNBC, CNN(I doubt)
but may be interested in human rights violations..One never knows.  Then, there is talk shows..I will be out of town for a few weeks, but I will try to make some inquiries and find out the legal issues. I doubt anyone may want to dig into this dirt so deep, but one never knows...  I have some connections..at least
they'll say yes or no..maybe even "go for it".  It is a stretch, but today, what isn't.
