Title: Living with someone from straight
Post by: anon78 on November 04, 2002, 08:29:00 AM
Hello, my spouse does not know yall and felt stupid asking for advise since she didnt know you and wasnt there so I am doing it for them.
My spouse tells me that straight makes her angry, that they get tired of the nightmares and worried but have no one to talk to about it, that they try hard to understand and help but sometimes has no idea how to help if I am going through anger or depression over it or if they see that it is getting to me again. They would really like another girlfried , boyfriend , husband, wife whatever of straight that they could talk to.
I am certain that it is very hard on our spouses.... My spouse also says she does not
know how to handle some of the memories I have , or even what to say to me when I read the news of someone else I knew dying. She believes in our cause wholehardely i think she just needs another spouse to talk to our some advise from ya'll..

she can relate to what your spouse is going through very well.  She is not a straight grad or client and has "put up w/me" and understands my demons now for over 12 years.  email us at kpickle39@aol.com   Good luck!

I'm the wife of a former inmate and I was there as well. I may not be exactly what your wife needs, but feel free to pass along my email address anyway.

My domestic partner has also struggled with the after effects and the difficulty of the healing process I will ask if he is willing to discuss it with other spousal units in the same situation.

Okay, help my southern fried self out here.

a spousal unit must be...

Something which can be purchased at a good parts store, or

A critical part of space station Alpha, or

That defective woman I didn't return before the warranty ran out.

ROFLMAO!!
Well my hubby is the wife around the house. Does that make him a spousal unit? I don't think his warranty has expired yet. All joking aside, He was never there or even heard of the place (perfect) and he's my rock of stability. He listens attentively about the past, loves me when I think nobody should and helps keep me grounded in the here-and-now. Drop us a line at junkyrd@bellsouth.net His name is Mark.

All joking aside about the UNIT, I will say that my straight learned behaviors did not help my marriage.
I wonder what the divorce stats are for former program people?

My cult induced personality traits contributed to the destruction of a dozen or more relationships. They drove away friends, and destroyed my jobs repeatedly.

A spousal unit is measured in love, not inches.

It just sounded a little like Brave New World... like swing by the Family Outfitting Center (aka FOC) and grab a spousal unit. The old one wore out.
 Laugh James!
It must be a California thing.

I think the rate of divorce would be excessively high. Like about 90%

Run now get away from me if I can get my grip I'll pull you down into
the hell I call my head you'll never get away
I sit down in my ugly place and build walls out of fragments from my
past of all the people that I needed and loved that walked away,

You've got to just trust me to hold your hand through then I'll turn
and walk away
