Title: Springfield, 86 - 87
Post by: ascoleman on May 19, 2005, 04:22:00 PM
One of my straight survivor friends just told me about this sight.  I'm floored.  I have to say, it gives me chills, literally, to think of those times, long ago, and more, to think of my commisserates now.  Holy Hell.

Hi Anne,

Welcome. I and many others here experienced similar emotions upon the discovery of this website. I found this place about 3 years ago and I do feel it has helped me to gain insight about the origins of some of my behavior patterns and thought processes.

I hope you are doing well today, almost 20 years later. You are a fellow "survivor" and I'm glad you have found us. Please e-mail me... I'd love to chat more.

Aloha,   ::flipflop::  ::flipflop::

HI Brent, Thanks for writing me back.  I am living in Boulder, I love it here.  I keep in touch with a few people, some from Straight in other cities.  Its an weird and interesting thing to have in common with people.  I am at work, I will check in later.  Anne

Hi Anne, I knew you too. My step sis lives in Co. also. She's doing well, in school, has a 4 year old, good marriage. She said you were in Boulder some time ago...been there a while I guess.

Hi Brent, thanks for writing me back.  Hope you are doing well and enjoying yourself in Hawaii.  Sounds great.  I am in Boulder now, and I like it a lot, its a great little town.  The only person I still talk to sometimes is Chin Velasquez.  She and I stayed friends, and we also both ended up in Colorado, so we have mutual friends out here.  Are you working?  Do you have kids or anything?  Anne

Hi Geoffrey, thanks for writing me back. Yes I did see Margaret a while ago. It must have been 10 years ago.  I have been here a while.  I think about her sometimes, I always thought she was an exceptional person.  She's still here?  How about you?

Hi Anne,

Great to hear from you again. I remember Chin, although I don't remember her face as well. It's good to hear that you had someone you stayed in contact with after all of these years.

Hawaii is great and I couldn't have made a better decision than when I moved out here. I'm doing well and would like to talk to you more. Send me an e-mail at the e-mail in my profile and I'll talk to you again soon.

Aloha!

Anne

Yes she is still in Ft. Collins. I'll tell her you said "Hi".

Didn't Chin have a brother named Ishi?

Hey Geoffrey,

Thank for mentioning Ishi, that brought the memories back of him and his sister, Chin.

Aloha!

Chin took me on my withdraw interview with my parents and an executive staff (some trim fellow with dark brown hair in a suit.) Then she stood me up in group and ridiculed me. This was par for the course, no hard feelings. They turned us all into each other's captors. Chin was probably the highest phaser in the building at that time of day, so she took me, and they called on her later that day and she said what she was supposed to say. Ask her if she remembers that. Again, no hard feelings, I just want to know if she remembers for the historical record. Tell her I said hi and you can give her my email address. You can put other people in touch with me too. B.P.
