shrub is a weenie compared to Kerry in the debate tonight. Go John Go - The road to hell is paved with Repubicans.
-
Kerry came out of the debate looking as the much stronger candidate. I was pretty much undecided/apathetic, but believe I will now vote for Kerry. Have to watch the next two debates....
-
I thought Kerry did a good job, but then when I was watching tv later, people (republicans)were still saying Kerry was inconsistent on all this stuff that makes completely no sense. They were saying, how can he support the troops but not the war, how can he say he served bravely in vietnam if he opposed it, how can he vote for the war (which he NEVER did, he voted for the authority to go, if needed) if he now says it was a mistake, how can he unite people with us if the war was a mistake. Am I just crazy, or what is going on here? What is all the confusion about? To me it's about as clear as some of the animal threads Ive read lately. Not much real debating going on and nobody is figuring anything out. It's really frustrating.
-
Jane,
Are you new to politics? This always happens. Kerry from the jury of popular opinion "won" that debate. So the republicans have to shift the focus and cloud it over with proaganda. Just like the democrats will do if Dubya "wins" the next debate.
Nothing new.
-
I really believe that the republicans are more skilled at manipulating public opinion. I don't see the democrats twisting things around in completely illogical ways. If people can buy Bush's bizarre logic, they should really be impressed with Kerry who seems like a genius compared to him. Sometimes I miss Clinton. [ This Message was edited by: jane on 2004-10-01 12:49 ]

kerry doesn't have an agenda. bush is all concerned about being the man and going to war. kerry's been in a war and thinks war is stupid, there are other ways and war is a last option.
-
Jane,
My shit is not for you to understand since you don't understand anything but your own agenda. What is really confusing is that you can't type or compose worth a rat's screw so you might as well just kill yourself cos you'll never amount to anything. And yeah, you're right, it must be very frustrating being you and not being able to understand facts or much else. Enjoy it, you have to live with it - not me.
-
Ok look I only said that your threads were confusing because, well they are, but also I am fairly certain you yourself have admitted several times that you try to push people's buttons on here. You call yourself a troll even. So you can't be too upset with me for seeing you that way.
-
Jane, blow him off. We should all be so lucky to have grammatical skills as good as Animals'. I think the whole "you cant write so you might as well off yourself" comment is the most intelligent thing I have heard all year....you?
I am Jack's raging bile duct.Of all the enemies to public liberty, war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other.

I agree. Really, pure intellect which maybe shouldn't have been unleashed in such a pure and rare form onto this board.
Hopefully we will all survive.

No, Kerry has an agenda. Not one I'm real fond of and didn't address his agenda in this debate. But he certainly has one.
At this point, I've gone from a confirmed Badnaric vote to undecided. I may well vote for the socialist.
The question, as I see it, is do we want to go balls out and tear down the system quickly through violence under Büsh, have another throw at persueding the people to restore the republic through diplomacy under Kerry or acknowledge that it doesn't make a lot of difference either way and vote "None of the above".

Al Gore won the last election. Any moron can see that once the facts are presented. Bob Graham has written a new book and I suggest that the most edju-ma-kated survivors read it when they get a chance. He was driven off this election and chose to smear the shit out of the Bush administration rather than accept defeat.
I also think the whole 9-11 thing was cooked up by the ones in power in order to establish fear and show who is in charge. It is alot how an abusive stepfather will beat the established children of a household into submission in order to set his own agenda firmly into place. Once them fucking towers came down there were'nt too many people concerned with 'chads' or misprinted ballots. KNOW-WHUT-I-MEAN-VERN?????????????????

Ginger and 85 Day....I agree with both of you implicitly....my next question is...what, exactly, do you believe to be the best solution? I struggle with this.
My best guess is, what is the lesser of two evils, or three evils actually. How can I participate without supporting that in which I vehemently oppose...given the choices of candidacy? I would love to say none of the above, but how in effect, can doing so effect change? All responses welcome....
None of the above may be optimal, but how can you do so and still work within the system to alter the system? From the bottom of any large organization looking up through the ranks, human greed and stupidity look a lot like a conspiracy.

Yes! if you have fallen that far left I am afraid you may have fallen off the face of the earth. Pleae come back....to earth, not any specific party but certainly not the socialist........are you in cahoots with Deb?      Take my electric car and soy bergers please........

Patriot, by socialist I mean Kerry. I have a pretty good idea what he'll do if elected. Büsh, otoh, might do damned near anything.
It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep
the rest in order; and those who have once got an ascendency and possessed themselves of all the resources of the nation, their revenues and offices, have immense means for retaining their advantages.

Carmel, I think the solution lies in local autonomy. That's why I usually vote Libertarian or libertarian. Not that I think Mike Badnarick is actually going to win the presidential election. Just that if he can take just a couple percent of the vote, it demonstrates that there are a damned lot of us scattered around the country. But I'm a whole lot more scared of W than I ever was of his daddy.

Well you got socilaist right, but do you know what he will really do?
-
More of the same, I expect. Federally subsidised health reinsurance (cha-ching!) UN control over Iraq and Afghanistan (same as it ever was, really) and generally more spending, more invasive nanny state programs and policies. But not very likely any more invasions of foreign countries of DEA raids on medical marijuana co-ops and hospices. Probably won't start arresting supporters of his political opponants like the 1200 or so who got locked up in NYC, either.
Do you have any ideas on what Kerry would do?
Whenever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.

Büsh and his cronies are some scary dudes! Worse? Why are police all over the country going along with these clearly unconstitutional actions? Cause they're just pussies or cause they really prefer a facist state? When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans ...... And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities.

That's why I'm voting for John Kerry.
