Title: St Pete Ends Proposal "Free Speech Zones"
Post by: Richard Bradbury on July 29, 2004, 08:18:00 AM
This is a copy of my letter requesting time to speak before the St Petersburg City Council regarding the proposed "free speech zones."

However, it won't be necessary.

Quote from today's St Pete Times:

"City ends proposal to limit protests
Following criticism from the community, officials in St. Petersburg reverse field on creating "no protest zones" outside BayWalk and Tropicana Field."

If they would have passed that proposal it would have focused national attention on EVER single cause that people were out there protesting for.

In any event this is a significant victory for free speech, the people picketing and their
cause(s).
