Title: Atlanta early days
Post by: Tampa survivor on July 25, 2002, 11:55:00 AM
I thought i would post a new thread, and let Marnie have hers back for now....
I was transplanted to ATL for being a 14 yo with a mind in the St Pete program. Newtons Nazi's couldn't have that as people were starting to poke around and ask questions about the program.  I remember fondly many people from my exile.  I just didn't know I remembered.  Say hello if you were there.  Check out MARNIE,Jennie, kenny  thread.

I have heard about a seven steeper, Doug S. who went to ATL to refresher.  He was a friend of mine while on 4th phase in 1981 together in St Pete before I split the 2nd time.  I was in ATl from early 1982 until 12-15-82, then I split off, and stayed off.

Sorry I'm not your guy.  My name is Bill.

Do you remember Doug Drago? He was transfered from St.Pete to Atlanta in 84. He was my best friend. I've never spoke to him since the day I stepped. If you have any info I would really  appriciate it.

No the name Drago rings no bells.  My involement with straight ended 12-15-1982 unless you include being at Newton's kids wedding in 1983.  Don't ask....

I am desparately seeking info on Jason, who transferred from Florida as a 14 yr old, with his single mother. He was a hard core misbehaver, and carved his arms alot.

If it's the same kid who had Satan carved in one arm, 666 in the other and an upside-down cross on his face, I'm pretty sure his name was Eric. I'm trying hard to recall a last name but can't at this point. If you ever do find out anything about him I'd really like to know. I think about him probally more than any other person. As an adult with a 12 year old daughter of my own,I am haunted looking back at the things that kid did to himself.

I remember this kid now! He would never bathe and had BIG flakes of the skin of his scalp coming off. I remember him fighting often. I also remember no one ever showed him any compassion. He wasn't there (ATL) long, was he?

I remember that kid too, if we're talking about the same person.  At one point he copped out and was gone for several weeks.  They found him and brought him back to group one night.  He was pissed, to say the least.

Again ,if we are discussign the same guy, I do recall my 'Jason' copping out once. He also made second phase once for a short time. However he began to raise hell at home, while i was a trainee and myself and anotehr person were dispatched to his home to keep him from beating up his mom or copping out. It was not pretty.
