Kenneth, Is that you? Humpty Dumpty Zaretzky? If memory serves me correctly wasn't it YOU who talked about having a small penis in mens groups?

Ken there is no need to feel ashamed you look like a wine barrel, we all come in all shapes and sizes.

Just look at you standing in front of that microphone, were you addressing the public via microphone about your rules and regulations for elanalum?

I can see it now, Ken standing in front of a microphone adressing the public, " There will be NO Slander against Elan or its staff:"

Ken you need to go drink some more slim fast and stop trying to act like a tough guy, Mr. A.D.D

I wonder who can stray from fiction for a moment, and list one or more reasons Ken Z needs to be a target at a place like this.

Ken is a succesful businessman, father and husband. Ken made a site Elan Alumni can hang out in. What the fuck have you losers done?

Envy is ignorance, quite vividly displayed here.

Your an idiot.

I am not Ken.

I am not Bill, or bob or sue or rick or dan either...that should narrow it down just a little for you.

Take another stab at it fucknut. Its so damn absurd seeing people guess the identity of anon posters.
Ken identifies himself on the very rare occasion he comes in here to post.

Whats your beef with him any way?...can you be real and be honest, or are you gonna waste your time and mine coming up with some idiotic story to entertain yourself?

Your jealous you dont have anything better to do than attack people who have a life.

Eat shit.

Thanks Art. I do appreceate your kind words. Really.

I can't believe the silliness some people get all worked up over. Jeeze, some people should get lives.

There is nothing new about that website. It has been there since 1986. It isn't breaking news or a new discovery.

That picture is how I looked in 1986. That was 18 years ago. In it's time that was one of the most awarded personal websites in the world. Some of the awards it won actually meant something. I was really quite proud of it. I lovingly call it "Ego Central" .

If you'd like to see it the way it was meant to be seen you should use a different link. You'll likely enjoy it more if you enter it from:

 http://www.zaretzky.com/indexx.html (http://www.zaretzky.com/indexx.html)

I hope you do get a good laugh from it. When I made that website that was my intent. It was designed to be funny. It is supposed to be funny. Get it? Like, some of us call it humor. That is something that makes people smile, maybe laugh, maybe take life, and themselves just a bit less seriously. Doctors say that humor is actually good for you. They say it makes you live longer.

I spent years on that site in my spare time taking myself not too seriously, being funny, being light. Now and then I'd actually throw something meaningful in it. But mostly, I'd just not take me too seriously and make fun of myself a bit.

So, if you'd like to experience the World Famous "Names I Have Been Called" page and laugh at it like people have for 18 years, please do. The same for the Soon to be World Famous "Why I Should Be Supervisor of the World" Page. Enjoy it, or don't.
It's all just humor. Some of us could do well by trying some humor once in a while. I hope it helps.

But do try to use the right entry point, It's http://www.zaretzky.com/indexx.html (http://www.zaretzky.com/indexx.html)  , I think you'll enjoy it better from there.

Now I wonder who will launch an attack about this post.

Ken

The beginnings: ARPANET

In 1957, the U.S. government formed the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), a segment of the Department of Defense charged with ensuring U.S. leadership in science and technology with military applications. In 1969, ARPA established ARPANET, the forerunner of the Internet.

Research and education

ARPANET was a network that connected major computers at the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California at Santa Barbara, Stanford Research Institute, and the University of Utah. Within a couple of years, several other educational and research institutions joined the network.

In response to the threat of nuclear attack, ARPANET was designed to allow continued communication if one or more sites were destroyed. Unlike today, when millions of people have access to the Internet from home, work, or their public library, ARPANET served only computer professionals, engineers, and scientists who knew their way around its complex workings.

Evolution

Throughout the 1970s, developers created the protocols used to transfer information over the Internet. By the early 1980s, Usenet newsgroups and electronic mail had been born. Most users were affiliated with universities, although libraries began to connect their catalogs to the Internet, too. During the late 1980s, developers created indices, such as Archie and the Wide Area Information Server (WAIS), to keep track of the information on the Internet. To give users a friendly, easy-to-use interface to work with, the University of Minnesota created its Gopher, a simple menu system for accessing files, in 1991.

Tim Berners-Lee: Father of the Web

The World Wide Web came into being in 1991, thanks to developer Tim Berners-Lee and others at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, also known as Conseil EuropÒûne pour la Recherche Nuclî?re (CERN). The CERN team created the protocol based on hypertext that makes it possible to connect content on the Web with hyperlinks. Berners-Lee now directs the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), a group of industry and university representatives that oversees the standards of Web technology.

Early on, the Internet was limited to noncommercial uses because its backbone was provided largely by the National Science Foundation, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the U.S. Department of Energy, and funding came from the government. But as independent networks began to spring up, users could access commercial Web sites without using the government-funded network. By the end of 1992, the first commercial online service provider, Delphi, offered full Internet access to its subscribers, and several other providers followed.

In June 1993, the Web boasted just 130 sites. By a year later, the number had risen to nearly 3,000. As of April 1998, there were more than 2.2 million sites on the Web.

What a stuck-up prude What the hell is wrong with getting tatoos and peircings? I think they are away of being who you are, and not conforming with the rest of the world. Done with taste they look good and can be very sexy... You need to learn to open your mind, and not be so snobby and rude.

Another attack from the ghosts.

Ignore the anons who have nothing nice to say.

To the Antigen:

Theres got to be some way to accomidate civil people here while discouraging random disgusting, or otherwise undesirable comments from the anon peanut gallery. Wasnt there a feature here that showed the IP number of all posters?

That would be a good start thinking theres not likely a way to convince you to require registration.

People should be required to register, at least an alias which is STILL anon. The ability to just post and clic is too easy for the assholes whos only intent is to disrupt the flow here, and ridecule or flame anyone they please. Theres NO good reason to allow this. The fredom of speech doesnt apply. Why? Because the freedom of speech was not designed to remove accountability for WHAT you say!

Doug

P.S. I'd "register" I'd even do it with my own name if it came to that...but until I get around to it, I'll just sign my posts.

But the more compelling reason to "allow this" is much simpler and much more basic. It is this. I am not your mommy.

The only thing registering an alias would change, would be the time and effort it takes to make posts, which at this point is too easy, just type your profane, twisted insults and clic.

Registering an alias isnt going to give anyone on the outside world any more of a hint as to the real identity of an individual. It will simply subject the person posting to a little more accountability for what they say.

I clicked the link, nothing relevant.

Are you interested in a productive site? Harassing posts, posts made for the simple reason to insult of flame are not exactly productive are they?

Or does your head swell when the hit counter goes up?

Indeed! That kid who posted anon from ALA certainly wouldn't have done so had Craig Rogers been able to hold him "accountable" for doing so. Instead, because it took them a couple of days to figure out who had made the post, the kid was all lawyerd up before staff could hold his feet to the fire.

Get it?

And I really am not responsible for controling what you post or what you read. Why do you seem to have such difficulty w/ the idea of liberty? Can't you simply accept that people will do and say things beyond your control? You badger and insult me just about every time you drop in here and I don't feel an overwhelming need to control what you say. If you don't like what others post, well then read something else.

I dont recall asking you to take any responsibility for me or anyone else. The debate is a logical and worthy one. Voicing my opinion on the subject is PURE liberty...no problem here.

I have no desire to control what anyone says or does here, is there no logic to asking that people be given a better oportunity to control themselves? Especially in an environment where control is obviously warranted?

No, maybe you dont, but you sure waste no time replying to my badgering insults with rhetoric and suggestions to why my mode of thinking should be modified...is that what you mean by "control"? TC concept spilled over?

I'm not sure I have ever heard a question quite that stupid.

Controlling someone is making them do what you want. They do what YOU choose.

Holding them accountable is insisting that they take responsibility for what THEY choose. There is no similarity.

I think the laws of nature already ensure that people take responsibility for their own choices. Whoever posted this stuff that you don't like has reaped the consequences. What more do you want? What difference would it make if you knew who they were?

You're quite right that registering a username wouldn't give you too many more clues to their identity. So what, exactly, do you hope to gain, assuming you could be successful in badgering me into eliminating anon posting? Hell, for that matter, what do you hope to gain from reading or posting here at all? I note that your forum is rather dead lately. Are you just here for a little free publicity?

Oh, and btw, what ever happened to AndysMom? I really was worried about her and her son. Was somewhat disturbed by the dissapearance of her posts. Did things work out for them? Do you even know? Of did you just discard them like last years campaign promises when they quit going along w/ the Program?

Another great example of why the anon posting option sucks, people making complete idiots of themselves by guessing who one anon or another is. (especially when they are wrong, which is most often the case. as seen in antigens post)

Let me ask you something Ginger, if your defensiveness instigated by your assumption that I am "badgering" you were to be eliminated from the equation, would there be any light at the end of the tunnel shined on a compromise?

For all you or anyone else knows, every anon post in here is the same damn person! Hell many Elan alumni claim to have multiple personality syndrome so who knows? I'll assure you though, if people are required to register, and their IP was allowed ONE registration. You'd save yourself the embarassment of assuming I am Ken Zaretsky.

"Are you here for a little free publicity"

Thats got to be one of the dumbest ligitimate questions Ive witnesed in a long time....Uh, I am anonymous...wheres the publicity?

What would I gain? There you go soliciting a pat on the back again.

I dont know a darn thing about andysmom, other than shes andys mom.

I will give you a tiny hint who I am though, since your into the guessing game...You banned me, yes, censored my input about a year ago becuase you are well aware of everyones IP and I somehow, even anonymously offended you to some point beyond your capabilities to "control" other than blocking my IP...so you did.
