I didnt go to elan(Daytop'68) so maybe im missing something here...that would be the use of the word "YO". Now i am not a hermit so i have heard the phrase before...usually from the mouths of black rappers or hip-hop artists or just rapper-wannabes. then there is the ever-useful term 'wigger' which i personally dislike intensely, for obvious reasons, but also may be applicable in this case.
my question is, i guess, how come it would appear that the only person who really uses that word is a female from Brazil?! is it a popular phrase down there?
its kinda like if i, a very american dude, constantly used a phrase like "hey, bandejo" or..."see ya later. bandejo". get it?
"Hey mom, bandejo..can i have a cookie?"
So..tell me...am i missing something here?

I know I don't, Yo!
lol
Would it sound better If I called you "meu irmão"? Don't think so. And I also lived in the States for 5 years, so that might have anything to do with it... Quite frankly: Guess you worry too much about my terms of speech. I really could care less.
Peace!
