Yes, a long time ago. Long before I visited the boards. I ended up reading the book, too..now I forget which came first for me, the book or the movie..anyway, yes I saw it. :tup:

I read all his books in TDC...actually the library on the unit I was on was pretty good they had some good novels..that and writing letters Kept me out of trouble in there..and its a good escape for ythe mind...
They had 2 TVs per dorm and each TV had 2 benches..
The Mexicans got one...and the blacks got the other...White people were not allowed to sit on either first row bench...nor sit at certain tables..
My attitude was fuck you and your TVs ..Ill read..and I did...I think I read about 7 books per week...I also enrolled in classes so I didnt have to work in the fields..
All in all I did my time smart...and got along with everyone..
In the pre release dorm it was called a Therapeutic community...and we had group in the mornings (drug offenders) and we had extra privelages..we had a Microphone etc for meetings and they let us do our evening meetings with no supervision...I used this opportunity to be somewhat of a standup comedian for the dorm..making a bunch of hardened criminals laugh..therefore people liked me regardless of race...and I got free tattoos, cigarettes, the occasional joint..and noone fucked with me..
