What's wrong with 1970? :???:

YEAH, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE 70s?!
-
Yeah, the 70's were hip!!

Damned straight, they were. Look at this these young whipper-snappers these days...Trying to be cool with their bell-bottoms and platforms. They wish they could've lived 30 years ago! Let's face it, the drugs were a lot better back then, and so was the fukkin' MUSIC! HAHAHAHA! How ironic! An older generation that's cooler than the younger one! (Well, the 60's folks prolly felt the same way about the 80's kids. It's all relative.) Anybody else 'trip' on thoughts like this?

Damn...I KNOW!!! My girls are 18 and 16, I raised 'em right though. My youngest is listening to Blue Oyster Cult RIGHT NOW. ::rocker:: . Shit like that DOES freak me out a little. I LOVE the era that I grew up in, but then again, I guess everybody does. There was something about the sixties and seventies though. Drugs were DEFINITELY better, and safer, music was AWESOME. My youngest and I were watching Porky's the other night and both of us commented on how they got into a lot of trouble but it was somehow more innocent then. I know Porky's was set in the late 50s, but even in the 70s things seemed more innocent.

I think there's probably some former crackpot in Hoboken, flushed w/ vindication, tittering madly as he spends his millions from the warehouse full of Faded Glory stuff that he's been warehouseing lo these many years.
I love it! I'm wearing bellbottoms right now, in fact! I wonder how long it will be before dashikis come back. I had one of those till I wore it to death like maybe 6 years ago. I miss it.
I don't think the `70's were either as innocent as some people remember or as diabolical as some people thought at the time.
Nixon was convinced that the whole hippy, rock music, peace, love and happiness movement was a Communist plot to lure our young into blissful passivism so they could take over without much of a fight. And there were Communist cells wearing tie-dye and giving away flowers and free love. But probably not so many as there were COINTELPRO infiltrators. Then there were the Mansons and Einhorns. These WERE scary dudes who fronted all love and freedom, but who had some pretty violent and unlovely plans for their young admirers.
These are the kinds of things that scared the living shit out of our parents. What scares us? Gangs. Gangs are the new hobgoblin. And, just as before, the authorities seem to be doing all they can to encourage them. I've seen them take a kid who's not really interested in a life of crime, tag them as a possible or confirmed "gang associate", at which point their old, good kid friends have to think twice about being seen speaking with them.
As de dawg chases his tail... There are two kinds of people; those who's lives have been somehow touched by harsh tragedy and those you don't know very well.
