I remember a Kristin Stottlemeyer from during my time. She went on to staff, and committed suicide later, so I heard.
Straight was big on trying to tie homosexuality to drug addiction when I was there.. in fact, that was something that smacked so much of Moral Majority that it made me begin to question whether Straight knew what it was talking about; in other words, it was sort of a chink in the armor of the brainwash...

I knew of Carlton Turner as one of the more lunatic drug warriors. Years later, found mention of him in Wes Fager's work. I'm not 100% certain of this, but it seems to me that he was a program parent. I may be mixing up some of the details with Donald Ian MacDonald, who certainly was a program parent, drug czar and pediatrician.

Carlton Turner was Reagans drug czar who got fired for making a public speech about how pot causes homosexuality and AIDS...
He was a big deal to the Straight Execs judging by the letters to him...
And he was replaced, if I'm not mistaken, by Donald Ian MacDonald, Straight's former medical director, no?

They're probably in the MacDonald Collection (http://http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/textual/smof/macdonal.htm), either semi-individually as projects begun by Turner and continued by MacDonald, or as a compilation file of orphan Turner files, records, and projects ... perhaps even this entry for MacDonald in "Box 3":

Miller newton himself spouted the addict/ gay thing in my prescence ,heard it with my own ears.It was in some sort of staff meeting, maybe intake training if memory serves. this was at gandy,when it 1st opened.
